Video confirms some of the new features coming to WhatsApp
All eyes have been on WhatsApp following Facebook's proposed acquisition of the messaging app for $19 billion. The Windows Phone version of WhatsApp is in the process of being beta tested prior to an update that will eventually hit the Windows Phone Store. According to a video out of Brazil that shows some of the new features of the update, Windows Phone users of the app will have chat backgrounds, custom notification sounds, privacy controls and other new features.

The video shows how different alarms can be set for individual or group conversations and how individuals on your contacts list can each have their own background. Just the other day, we touched upon some of these new features and showed you some screenshots related to the update. Now you can see some of them in action on this video.

There still is no word on when the update will make it out of the private beta it is in, but there are some who expect to see the update taking place imminently, which would obviously be good news for Windows Phone users.
