The Verizon FamilyBase service is now the Verizon Smart Family service. Using the Smart Family app, you will be able to see where your kids are, control the content they have access to on the internet, block social media, messaging and gaming apps, and limit the amount of time they can spend on their phones. In other words, everything you can do with your children's handsets to make them pissed off at you, can be achieved with the Verizon Smart Family app.

With the Smart Family app, you can see how much battery life your kids' phones have left, so you can call and remind them to turn on their power banks. You can also monitor texts and call logs, and do all of this regardless of whether the kiddies are on a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.

If you're a Big Red subscriber, you probably won't be shocked to hear that this service will cost you a few bucks each month. Without location tracking and alerts, you'll pay $4.99 monthly for the Verizon Smart Family service. If you want to add alerts and the location tracking feature, you'll shell out $9.99 a month for the premium service. There is a 30-day free trial for the premium subscription.
