This is the Note 8 in the new Deep Sea Blue color
Well, well, well, look what we have here - after revealing the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 phablet in Midnight Black, perennial leakster Evan Blass is now declassifying an eventual Deep Sea Blue version.

It looks fine at the front, but we bet it looks even svelter from the rear, and has a blue S Pen to match. Hopefully we will get a look at the blue Deep Sea glass back as well, since with that screen-to-body ratio, there's barely a blueish frame to judge the intensity of the color from.

One thing is certain, though - Deep Sea is not Coral Blue, so we might have a new Note color on our hands unveiled next week when Samsung takes the stage on August 23. Hopefully, the Deep Sea hue will be one of the choices making their way stateside from the get-go. Do you like this darker blue version better than the lighter blue we had with the Note 7?

Gorgeous, but nothing beats stealthy black for me.

I want WHITE, it is much easier to see/find and that is most important. (especially in low light)

I loved my white note 5. I would love to have a white note 8 but, since no white this will be my color if true.

You can make any phone white. DBRAND and others make phone skins.

And I have not seen any confirmation it has FRONT facing SPEAKERS. (stereo is ok/better, but at least front facing)

I'm pretty sure that won't happen. Of all the leaks, nothing is pointing to front facing speakers. Would be nice, but it looks like the manufacturers of that functionality in the past have moved away from it. Samsung has yet to embrace it. I'm not a fan of increased frontal area for speakers. But, I would love to see someone do a "front facing" speaker that could emanate sound "through the screen". Seems like Sharp and some Japanese mfctrs have similar tech in some phones now.

The Moto Z has front-facing speakers, (as well as a more-powerful and louder stereo attachment). I got the phone for that specific reason, and indeed do like that aspect. But I HATE that phone for 100+ other reasons, and thus was looking forward to the Note 8 when I first heard it would have front-speakers.

Am I the only one here who thinks that a narrow aspect ratio (narrower than 2:1) is unsuitable for a so called 'Note' smartphone? When I heard about S8's 18.5:9 aspect ratio, I said to myself: "Now, that aspect ratio will perfectly distinguish The S Series from The Note Series." But alas, I was wrong... The Note 8 is coming out to be an S8+ with a bigger display yet smaller battery, boxy chassis & a stylus. It won't have the battery endurance which is considered the hallmark of "Note" labeled smartphones. Redmi Note 4, for example, comes equipped with a Snapdragon 625 & a massive 4,100mAh battery. And thanks to that weird aspect ratio; The Note 8 won't have the diagonal screen real estate to warrant a 'productive' use of a stylus. This phone is passable, really. I don't know why the 'failing' PhoneArena (Yes, PhoneArena has gone down 652 points in global Alexa Ranking, a MASSIVE hit) is spreading so much hype about it? Oh well, G'Day!

Well said. Once the Note series was great but now It's just another typical Samsung phone with a stylus. There is no distinguishable difference between the S line and Note line this time. Very disappointed.

Producing this kind of mediocre Note phones how can Samsung give a real fight to the upcoming iPhone series??

Either both of them are mediocre or both of them are superb.

That's the Samsung fanboy logic. Let's see what's better by the sales numbers. Just like 2017 galaxy S series the Note series is also gonna be a major fail, or even more than that. FYI Samsung record revenue in the last quarter is not from smartphone sales but from display and nand flash sales.

Samsung can never generate profit like apple. Not because their flagship is inferior. But Samsung do not sell a mid ranger product at the price of flagships. Apple generates profit from iPhone because it is a mid ranger and sell it at flagship price Why doesn't iPad has as much profit margin as an iPhone? Ever thought about that.

"Just like 2017 galaxy S series the Note series is also gonna be a major fail..." Expound, and without Apple Fanboy logic please.

We don't buy the Note based on sales moron. But I'm sure you know this. Please ignore the troll. He knows nothign about the Note. His mom bought him an iPhone 5S and he thinks he's a tech smart person now. If you don't feed tyhe troll the troll will die. The Note isn't even in the same class as the S or the iPhone. Its better than both of them. If sales are your only metric for basing how good a product is, then you are an idiot. It is no doubt a Porsche is better than a Camry. But if you only used sales as a metric you would think otherwise. But the fact is a fact and you are an idiot and both facts are unchangeable.

Oh, so you've seen the phone in person & know every single detail about it already or does your time machine work & you've already been into next week, Marty?

Don't feed the troll. The Note does not directly compete against the iPhone. It sales as a niche product was not designed for mass production. There are only about 40M Note users, so the only phone its gonna outsell is other Galaxy models, excluding the S which is the top selling Galaxy model. He only talks sales because its the only thing iPhone has over the Note. Because he thinks sales are the only metric for how good or bad a product is.

Because the Note doesn't compete with the iPhone dumbass. Samsung made the Galaxy S for that.... Gosh dude, how dumb are you? How old are you? 5?!

I like the aspect ratio. When I initially heard of the aspect ration of the S8 and Plus, I thought it was the worst thing in the world. When i actually used it, I found it to be absolutely perfect. It works wonders in landscape mode, side by side apps. You actually get better workability with the apps in that ratio. I was actually hoping they'd carry that over. And I actually use the S Note everyday writing and always am frustrated with the screen dimensions. Having it a little longer would be better. I'd rather it longer than wider, personally. My only contention is the battery. I saw the S8 Active and it has a 4000 maH battery and it's not terribly thick at all, nothing to complain about at least. I'm sure Samsung is going to say that you'll still get the same active use time because of efficiency that you'd get from the Note5 or FE, but I'd rather have a comfortable day and a half time. Excited for this. Wasn't for the Note7, but this is a winner to me.

The Note has always followed the S in features on some level. The fact you ever though otherwise, shows you don't pay any attention. The only Note that did not follow the S model in some way was the Note 4, due to the bashing of the S5 design.

From the second deep blue was mentioned, I looked as the logo on my Gear S3 Frontier box and thought that has to be it. Well, it looks close and is awesome. Better be available at launch, but wouldn't surprise me to be a Best Buy exclusive in a couple months, which would be total crap.

Agree I love white and wish there would be white with white front like my note 5 has. I don't like black but having to live with it for now. I won't get a black note 8. I do wish they would have a red note 8.

If they would do the whole phone one colour, I would like a White, but since they ain't doing that, and since I've already got a S6+ in sapphire blue, it's time for a change! All Black
