The differences between iPhone 7, iPhone 7s, and iPhone 8: everything we expect

The new iPhones are well underway and it's only a month before Apple reveals all the goodies that we've been talking and speculating about over the past months. And we've been hearing a ton about the premium edition iPhone 8 (or at least that's what we're calling it right now), but not that much about the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus — the “regular” line, which will update the current design.

With that said, we thought it's a good time to gather the essentials that we know about and try and get a clear-cut idea of what the differences between the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus and iPhone 7s / 7s Plus would be. Then, have a look at how the iPhone 8 would be radically different to the iPhone 7s duo.

Differences between iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7s (and Plus variants)

The iPhone 8's breathtaking design and TouchID placement emotional roller coaster has definitely been the focus of the rumor mill. But still, we know a thing or two about the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. Here are the 5 main things that will make it different than the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus combo.

Differences between iPhone 7s and iPhone 8

Alrighty, so we got the basic upgrades covered — the 2017 iPhones will have updated hardware, wireless charging, glass back, and extra bling. But the 7s and 7s Plus will still have the same basic form factor we've had since the 2014 iPhone 6. And, as you know, the iPhone 8 is about to be something new and radical with an all-screen design and some other shenanigans going on.

What are the expected differences between the iPhone 7s and premium iPhone 8? Here's the basic rundown:

iPhone 8 will move the smartphone world to another level. The others can compete at most with iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus.

There is two lame reasons to update 1) new color choice and 2) antenna lines are gone. The glass back might make some users run, but it also allows wireless charging, which is a good thing in my books. The thing that bothers me is the screens on the current iPhones are low resolution displays. The display is the most important part of any smartphone. Besides it's not like Apple couldn't put a full HD display on the smaller iPhone. Especially when HTC had a 4.7" full HD display back in 2013. In 2016 we saw $200 Android smartphones with full HD displays. Yet Apple still put a HD display on its iPhone 7, and if they do that again with the iPhone 7s in 2017. Then there is no way that they should charge a flagship price for the iPhone 7s. Well it will be interesting to see if the displays stay the same.

If it wasn't for Apple you'd have no reason to exist.

The sad reality is, the iPhone 8 won't even manage to move Apple to a new level. It's clearly got such a high manufacturing defective rate that they had to release the 7s at the same time to have something to actually sell on the launch day.

Seems like the iPhone 8 will significantly cannibalize the sales of the 7s and 7s Plus, so Apple has to make the iPhone 8 in limited availability.

Apple screwed themselves with the 8 for me... I'm not paying £1000+ for a phone, but at the same time when I buy a new phone I'm not going to buy the one that's not as good like the 7s will be... I already have the crap dated version, I'm not going to upgrade to it. I think I'll give upgrading a miss and stick with my phone for a third year.
