Sony to hold MWC 2018 press conference on February 26, new Xperia phones incoming?
Although Sony has already unveiled a trio of Xperia phones early this year at CES (Consumers Electronics Show), we expect the Japanese company to unveil a couple of more handsets next month at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2018.

As a matter fact, we've just been invited to Sony's MWC press conference scheduled to take place on February 26. The invitation doesn't mention anything about phones, just that we'll get to see their latest technological achievements.

However, since MWC is all about smartphones, we strongly believe that we'll see at least two new Xperia devices, including a flagship. Speaking of which, one of the phones that are likely to be announced next month is the Xperia XZ Pro, a sequel to the Xperia XZ Premium.

Along with the Xperia XZ Pro, one or more cheaper Xperia phones may be introduced as well for those who can't afford a flagship. The one thing we're very excited about is to learn whether or not Sony will switch from a rather obsolete “OmniBalance” design to a modern, bezel-less look.

Don;t think there will be OLED displays or Compact device on MWC. Compacts were always (except Z1 Compact) shown at the IFA. And there is already XZ1 Compact, so they will wait till Q3 to show next one. As for OLED they will be, as Sony looks for people with knowledge about implementing that. However they "look for" not "have" them right now.

The fact that bisquen an employee does not mean that they have 50 working on screens oled, I do not think that only one worker makes millions of screen. My company is looking for an industrial engineer and has 20 more. I do not think that this year they have an OLED screen but not because they are looking for an engineer

They won't create OLED displays, but someone else - Samsung, LG or JOLED. Samsung has a lot on his mind (own and Apples), LG could manufacture for Sony (as they want to make less of own devices) and nobody know where JOLED is with their own displays. Last would be best, as JDI partialy belongs to Sony and JOLED is joint venture of JDI and Panasonic (I think?). Still this new person will be some kind of lead engineer in INTEGRATING OLED displays to Xperia devices. I believe that if they had already have devices with OLED displays that would mean that OLED is already integrated, so why looking for someone to do it? You don;t have to be Sherlock to see connections here :)

Can't wait. But the XZ Pro "leaks" that PA posted earlier are so fake. unbelievable that they had an article criticizing others about posting fake leaks while their XZ pro and the former G7 render articles are so fake..
