The Xperia 10 and 10 Plus, Sony's rumored Xperia XA series replacements
Leaked Sony Xperia 10 & Xperia 10 Plus renders

In a bid to unify its smartphone branding, around three years ago Sony settled on the ‘Xperia X’ name. Since then, flagship models have been launched under the ‘XZ’ moniker and mid-range models have been known as ‘XA’ devices. But according to tipster Ishan Agarwal, the Japanese brand could soon take a different direction.

Rather than releasing its upcoming mid-rangers as the Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra, the company has chosen a slightly more simplified branding and will launch the two handsets under the names Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus.

As to what can be expected from the rebranded duo, Sony has fitted both with tall 21:9 displays that are coupled with slim side bezels, a non-existent chin, and a pretty large forehead above the panel. Press renders have also shown that the smartphones include a glass build and dual-camera setups on their respective rears.

In terms of internal specifications, rumors point towards Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 inside both devices alongside 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Android 9 Pie straight of out the box is to be expected too.

The Xperia 10 & 10 Plus should go official on February 25th alongside the flagship Xperia XZ4. Speaking of which, it now seems likely that Sony will scrap its ‘XZ’ branding too in favor of something new.
