Sony Ericsson says previous report of imminent update for Xperia X10 was premature
Just the other day, we reported that according to the manufacturer's Facebook page, the Android 2.3 update for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 would be coming out on the 30th week of the year. Considering that this is the 30th week of 2011, the joint venture was basically saying that the Gingerbread update for the phone is imminent. However, those owners of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 eagerly awaiting the update should not hold their breath while waiting for the download to appear.
Through its blog, Sony Ericsson is setting the record straight. The announcement about the Android 2.3 update was apparently premature and the software, according to Sony Ericsson, is not yet ready for prime time. Mattias Holm, Head of Product PR, said in the blog that, "The launch is imminent and timing according to plan but we just need some more days before we can push the button." Another case of the left hand hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Seems like we have seen a lot of that lately including the faux pas made by Verizon's support staff on Wednesday when they confused the Samsung Galaxy S II for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and then acted like the former doesn't exist.
