Samsung to “unpack” a new phone real soon
It seems that Samsung is up to announcing a new phone really soon. Its “Unpacked” site is now featuring a big countdown timer that indicates the exact time remaining until the official launch. The whole thing looks to be pretty nice an event – a multi-layered box, containing the “top-secret” handset will be passed between people in London, Dubai and Singapore simultaneously. Each day one layer of the box will be removed by a participant (who thus wins the new phone) and on June 15, the final layer will be removed, revealing the handset. One lucky guy will also get the grand prize of $5,000. Alright, now we are talking! Obviously, Samsung knows how to build hype and that’s certainly a nice way to “unpack” a new phone before the world. So, what do you think? Which will be the “top-secret” handset? We doubt this will be the new Giorgio Armani though, as Microsoft’s name is nowhere to be seen on the site and the event would have been in Italy instead...

Stay tuned though, as the manufacturer will reveal the specifications of the handset on June 5.

Hopefully it is a SMARTPHONE, and coming to Verizon.

With it being passed around in London, Dubai and Singapore I would say it is going to be GSM. So probably not coming to Verizon. If it is available in the States more than likely it will come to At&t or T-Mobile.

One lucky GUY? What about all the ladies out there? Let's not be gender-biased here... (and I'm a guy, btw)

if that frame is gonna be the actual phone, i doubt it's an android as the screen looks small (not that its impossible but android is more for a big screen phone)... i'm not sure either if it's a fashion phone ie.armani, why would you want to create this hype for a phone that's targeted to a niche segment... thinking outside the box, we'd be shocked if it's a samsung's own OS-based device.... or at least Winmo 6.5....
