Samsung says Jelly Bean coming "very soon" to Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1
During Samsung's Unpacked event in Berlin, the Korean manufacturer took time off from a near constant stream of new product announcements to talk about a couple of already released devices. While no precise date was given, Samsung said that the Android 4.1 update will be coming to the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 "very soon".

UPDATE: Interestingly, what Samsung didn't explicitly say is that the original Galaxy Note is also getting the 4.1 Jelly Bean update in the very near future. Still, the huge screen behind Samsung's JK Shin confirms that - the original Note on the right is pictured next to Jelly Bean, so it should be getting updated soon as well.

Previously, there was speculation that the International variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III would be updated on Wednesday, although that never came to fruition. We've also seen some leaked Jelly Bean builds for the phone. While the latter by itself would normally be a reason for excitement, hearing Samsung say that the update is coming would only be topped by the actual arrival of the update itself.

Things might not be so clear cut for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S II as the handset's name was absent from the discussion. The Samsung GALAXY Note likewise wasn't mentioned, although an image of the phablet did show up during a slide show about the Jelly Bean update which should allow you to put the device in the "will be updated to Android 4.1" pile.
