Samsung expects to sell more than 11 million Galaxy Note 8 units

Samsung's most recent flagship, the Galaxy Note 8 is likely to hit the shelves on September 15, the South Korean company announced. However, pre-orders for the most important phablet of the year have already opened globally, so customers can purchase the Galaxy Note 8 and wait for it to arrive next month.

According to Samsung's mobile chief DJ Koh, his company expects to sell more Galaxy Note 8 units than the previous model, the Galaxy Note 5. He also confirmed that Samsung sold 11 million units, so the target would be to sell more than that number.

Still, the number of shipments could be adjusted along the way since Samsung wants to sell more Galaxy S8 phones. Apparently, the South Korean company aims for 48 million unit sales of the Galaxy S8, and so far the flagship sold around 15% more than the Galaxy S7.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 prices start at about $930 (and more than €1,000 in Europe), which makes it one of the most expensive flagships available on the market. However, Apple fans will probably have to spend the same amount for the iPhone 8 later this year.

Same here. (I'm one of the people who preordered the Note 7 last year)
Prime reason: Its an S8++
2nd reason: more excited about the LG V30
3rd: Too expensive

In my view after using the s8 plus for 3 months. Got the Xz premium (piece of s**t) and now back to the s8 plus. The best all round phone ever in my view is the S7 edge.

Glad I cancelled my xz premium preorder :p
Yeah, the s7 edge was nice. The s8 is basically the same with an infinity screen.

"Yeah, the s7 edge was nice. The s8 is basically the same with an infinity screen."

No dude. The only thing the S7E & S8 have in common is that they're both made by Samsung. That's it.

I agree, it's a refined S8+. When the Note 8 gets released, you will find deals on the S8+ that will save you $400. Unless you're a massive S-pen user, their is no reason to waste this much money when you can have the S8+.

You don't need to be 'masive S-Pen user', to have Note.
Even if you use S-Pen seldom, but know what can do, you will NEVER buy other phone. Trust me.

You'll be paying $300 more for a tech you'll hardly use. S8+ is a better option.

What phone do you have? Do you use 100% of its features? You're not paying $300 extra for a pen. And the Note is not $300 more than the S8. The S8+ was $850. The S8 is $750.

The $100 increase I am sure covers the adapters and premium headphones. You also have an extra camera. You have a more expensive and bigger display.

Is all of that suppose to be free?

If Apple for example, or any brand placed premium headphones , in the box, how much you think the phone would cost.

I agree its overpriced. I assume since the S7 edge cost Samsung $280 to make and the S8's were $300+, then the Note probably cost $350+ to make.

Samsung has to make some type of profit on the sale.

I agree its costly, but it has way more features and capabilities vs any phone including the Galaxy S, even without the Pen.

You're not paying $300 just for the pen. The pen is included in the price.

Every phone you buy, or car or anything else with lots of features, you pay for features you likely will seldom or never use.

I assume you use EVERY single feature on products you buy?

How is that even an argument.

My car cost me $50,000. It has lots of features. You think while owning I will use all of them equally? Some will get seldom used...SO WHAT!

Why pay for a feature you wont use? That's just a waste of money. That's fanboyism.

I had every Note that was released, and yet I'm not interested in buying the Note 8. Now if it was priced the same as the S8+, maybe I would've considered buying it.

Good luck to them. There’s got to be a lot of demand for it even though it hasn’t sold out yet. Shame they played it safe, I’d like to have seen more of a graphical overhaul but when I tried one out in a carrier store there wasn’t as much lag in the UI as the S8 has.

" (and more than €1,000 in Europe), " Is just because Iphone will be much more expensive? otherwise I cannot see the reason of inventing prices! Germany 999 euro, estern side of europe up to 1000 euro, where exactly is passing 1000 euros?

No way Samsung will sell 11m units with the pricing of the Note 8,people will rather save money buying the S8 Plus instead or save there money for the future Galaxy S9

Thanks for telling me what I would rather buy. Here I was thinking I wanted the Note 8, with no interest in either the S8 or S9. That was close. I'll cancel my preorder immediately.

Guys , GS8+ is NOT a Note replacement.
Stop writing same and same BS.
Don't make fools of yourseves.
Having S-Pen , is like to have PC mouse with amazing functions

They're getting their hope's pretty high up. Good luck for selling 5 million units with these prices.

Liking the reviews of the display so far, waiting for other reviews, and for B&H Photo to list the Exynos variant. Then I'd probably be 1 of those 11 million.

nah they won't sell 11Million Note 8.barely half that. Nowadays we have so many choices, we don't need to spend 1K ona phone. I don't spend that much on a laptop.
