Samsung Galaxy S9 case render allegedly shows off some of the new flagship's looks

A render of a Samsung Galaxy S9 case from Ghostek just might give away enough information about the 2018 flagship model to make you start salivating. Unveiling the handset on the day before the MWC keynote takes place in Barcelona is a tradition for the Galaxy S that had to be broken this year. If Samsung returns to that tradition, a February 25th introduction could take place. But Sammy would love to get a quick jump on Apple and its other rivals by introducing the Samsung Galaxy S9 in January.

The render shows a major change to the positioning of the rear-facing fingerprint scanner, one of the few complaints that users had about the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ this year. Unable to place the biometric reader under the display for the 2017 models, Samsung put the scanner next to the rear-facing camera. That was not such a great decision because it meant that users blindly trying to find the fingerprint scanner on back would accidentally leave a fingerprint smear on the camera lens. For the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the fingerprint scanner is seemingly mounted underneath the vertically placed dual camera set up on the back of the unit. This way, those fumbling for the scanner won't find it so easy to leave marks over the camera lenses.

Yes, the Galaxy S9/S9+ appear to be the first phones in the Galaxy S series to feature a dual camera setup. And looking at the render, the 3.5mm earphone jack will remain a part of the Galaxy S flagship series for at least another year. According to one person close to the situation, the back of the phone peeking through the case looks just like the real thing.

We haven't even enjoyed our Thanksgiving feasts yet, and already we're looking forward to feasting on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9+.
