Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ to be offered in purple?

A report published today cites an unnamed source as saying that Samsung brass is considering purple as a color option for the Samsung Galaxy S9. You might recall that earlier this year, prior to the unveiling of Sammy's current flagship line, images of a purple Samsung Galaxy S8 graced our pages although the phone was never released in that hue. According to today's report, this will be a darker shade of purple that would be considered closer to a violet color.

Other color options mentioned include the same gold, black and blue offered with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The front of the phone will remain all-black, and we should point out that the same color choices will be made available for the Samsung Galaxy S9+.

We expect to see Samsung unveil its new flagship line earlier than in the past as a way to combat the headline drawing abilities of the Apple iPhone X, and to beat the LG G7 to the marketplace. That could mean that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will both make some sort of appearance in Las Vegas next month during the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The 2018 event will run from January 9th through the 12th.

I think this will be spec bump from the Note 8 without S Pen...even if they go foldable, Android consumers aren’t willing to pay more than $900 for a phone.

"I think this will be spec bump from the Note 8 without S Pen..." SMH. The Note line & S line are different phones for different consumers. The S model that comes out earlier in the year is a preview of what will be bigger & better on the Note later in the year. Been like that since 2012.

The Note 8 sold quite well at above that price point.

I think Samsung’s design practicality is still superior to Apple’s, even with their new iPhone X design language. The odd resolution and notch cutout choice is currently very disastrous for viewing multimedia content. Even if I think the notch isn’t all that bad and adds a bit of differentiation to the typical smartphone design, it’s just not applicable for the aforementioned reasons.

Yeah, Samsung about nailed bezel-less design this year. They put a big tall screen in a really narrow body. If not for the misplaced fingerprint scanner - and don't even try to convince me it's not that bad... Next year's S9 could perfect it.

Yep fps is in a very bad spot, can't disagree... It's a bad design decision that can be lived with, unlike an unsightly unibrow impeding your media view on full screen. Better than not including one at all though and then pretending that you never intended to add one in the first place lmao...

Oh, that stupid fingerprint scanner. It's just the dumbest move that any smartphone manufacturer has made in years.

Def in a bad spot, but after having it in a case i never miss it xD

Maybe you should check the definition of disastrous....because if that’s what you think the iPhone screen is, then you need to get a serious grip on reality. A hurricane is disastrous, the notch on the iPhone far from it

Am I the only one still waiting for that emerald green from a few years ago?

Nope, many many people love that color.

That is the only phone I've ever considered buying that wasn't black or gray. That was a good-looking color, and I don't know why they didn't run with it.

Right.. Green, Black, or Grey.. I also like the new Burgundy Red S8, but waiting Samsung for 10 months just to release red variant is just stupid :v
