More Samsung Galaxy S8 Active photos leak out
In case you still had doubts about the existence of a rugged version of Samsung's Galaxy S8 - called S8 Active - you should probably put them to rest now. While Samsung still hasn't announced the new smartphone, we can now take yet another look at it, thanks to images from a leaked "employee training manual" published today by Android Police.

As previously reported, the Galaxy S8 Active shares most of its internals with the regular S8, but it's got a tougher, different-looking exterior. The new phone's 5.8-inch, 1440 x 2960 pixels display is flat and protected by raised margins, while a "durable metal frame" makes the device shock-resistant. Overall, the S8 Active will be a bit taller, wider, thicker, and heavier than the regular S8 - not only because of its rugged design, but also because it packs a larger (4000 mAh) battery.

The S8 Active will unsurprisingly have Bixby (Samsung's own digital assistant) on board, and a Bixby button on the left, just below the volume rocker. Unfortunately, it looks like the handset will run Android 7.0 Nougat at launch, despite the fact that Android 7.1 Nougat has been around for quite a while.

AT&T is bound to sell the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active in the US, and while there's no word on when this will happen, soon is likely a safe bet.
