Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to feature a quad-core Exynos 5210, coming this summer?
The rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is likely to arrive sooner rather than later, and it could feature a brand new system-on-a-chip that Samsung is developing, the Exynos 5210.

The S4 Mini might not match the potent hardware of the flagship S4, but the Exynos 5210 still could end up being fairly powerful with a big.LITTLE setup including a dual-core Cortex A15 for the more intense tasks and the power efficient dual-core Cortex A7.

The flagship Galaxy S4 in comparison comes with either a quad-core Snapdragon 600 or an octo-core Exynos 5.

The S4 Mini in comparison will have a smaller screen. The device is said to come with a 4.3″ Super AMOLED qHD display and the same TW Nature UX 2.0 on top of Android 4.2.2.

It is also rumored to arrive in a dual -SIM version (the GT-i9192) with a dual-core processor and a single-SIM HSPA+ model (GT-I9190) with a quad-core processor.

The Galaxy S4 mini release date is sait to be in the summer, either in June or July.

it's 2+2 dual core (but people will call it quad core); and the S4 is actually 4+4 quad core, but eveyone likes to call it octacore anyway despite not all 8 cores running simultaneously. Bragging rights of the (potential) owners of the S4.

The Exynos Octa is the truely 8 cores with HMP implementation. Nothing wrong with the name But the S4's SoC can be understanded as quad core because the implementation only 4 cores at a time

Ye too bad it's gonna be running on android cuz no matter how many cores they will add it will still lag and have plenty of errors

What are you talking about? There has been no lag on ANY android phone since 4.0.

That's funny, because my friend's mum's best friend's daughter's best friend's sister's Lumia 820 lags....lol Also, my wife's cousin's friend's daughter's best friend's IPhone 4s lags....lol. See I can make up a load of fictional stories based on a device I don't own. The only difference is that I do actually own a phone for every operating system and let me tell you, there is little to NO difference whatsoever in terms of browsing/scrolling/gaming etc.

You are thinking of Android 2.2/2.3, and just to let you know, the Xperia Play still running 2.3.5 can STILL keep up with the pace of the 3Gs and most Lumias, my prime example are scrolling through menus, web browsing and pinch to zoom when viewing photos. No stutter or lag whatsoever, you are most likely referring to HTC G1, honestly most people who say Android lags still think that the OS is represented by the really basic low end crap running on pre 2.3.5 software.

Put the 13mp camera and a 1280x720 screen on it and it would be a nice little phone. Doesn't deserve the s4 title with these middling specs

8. XPERIA-KNIGHT unregistered

i would say i dont care about the screen but since its Samsung, i do. So like you said it would be nice if they put a 1280 x 720 screen on it instead, to try and Help their already "not so good" amoled screens.

Because if they put a 720p screen on the mini, it will outsell not only the S3 but also the S4 as well with a high PPI. Samsung want to make sure the cream of the crop will always be their flagship, plus i would think capacity issues for the HD screen due to a hypothetical surge in demand that would be greater than the S4.

Then why release the SIV mini now? Even before the flagship has been released to the market. And i don't think this mini is going to cost anything like a 'mini. Here's what Samsung could've done...make the screen resolution 720p, 8 megapixel for the camera is Okay AND release the phone minimum 6 months from the release date of the flagship. That way, it won't hurt the SIII.

The release date has been pegged for a June/July release, approximately 4 months from now. I agree, they could have had a 720p display and released it for later, but with lower tier devices you know Samsung give them second rate treatment to make sure the attention isn't stolen from the S4, IMO it's rather small minded thinking from them, not everything should be focused on the flagship, they need to think of a lower priced mid ranger with decent specs. Me thinks the demand for a 720p display will be huge and they're just playing it safe and I don't think they've manufactured HD resolutions for ths size yet. I don't think we'll see a 720p mid ranger till the S5 mini.

I don't think they will put 13 MP camera on the S4 Mini, it is the same thing on the S3 Mini. S3 (8MP) > S3 Mini (5MP) S4 (13MP) > S4 Mini (8MP) (CAMERA IS DOWNGRADED)

Why QHD? Would be an attractive offer @720p.

That was a really big mistake Samsung has done, it should've came with a 720P. So its equipped with a A15 5410 if I'm right clocked at 1.6Ghz? So why not give the S4 specs on the S4 mini, there are lots of female that will think sevrals of time to sure to make the purchase. They sony like big phones, 4.2 or 4.5 is max anything bigger is a no!
