Samsung Galaxy S II is the king of Android sales in the UK

Samsung Galaxy S II is the king of Android sales in the UK
This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when you consider the fact that Samsung has moved more than 10 million Galaxy S II units worldwide, but the Galaxy S II is the top selling Android smartphone in the UK.

The Galaxy S II is the best-selling smartphone ever produced by Samsung. With its 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.2GHz Exynos processor and an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities what’s not to love?

There was one point in September, the third week of the month, where the Galaxy S II was purchased with a contract more than any other Android manufacturer in the entire country. That is domination when you consider the competition that Samsung is constantly up against.

Now that the Galaxy S II has been released stateside that 10 million sold number will surely go up. Given that it will be offered on 3 different carriers does anybody think that it could supplant the iPhone in terms of sales for a week or two? We’d love to hear what you think.

10 Million units in how many months? I bet Iphone 5 will surpass Gs2 sales in 2 months! Its a fact.......... considering 30% of Android users are thinking of getting an i5.

Apple copied from others and improved it that all.

In order to outsell the iphone 5, Samsung needs to get little bit more shameless by replacing their crappy brand name on their galaxies with 'Apple'. I'm an android user by the way. But I don't pay for craps born out of reverse engineering and shameless copying. Was anything ever invented in Korea - hahaha ? Even the Chinese kirfs deserve more credit for invention.

Again- as someone without a horse in this race, there is a side of me that wishes the iPhone 5 would get delayed and come out at about the same time as the Galaxy S3 is supposed to (Spring/Summer of 2012??) Love to see these two giants go toe to toe for the world wide Smartphone sales with their latest offerings. Try and tell me that wouldn't be FUN!!!

why? the iphone5 cant compete specwise with the SGS2 as it is. it would just be a laughing stock compared to the rumored SGS3 and its quad core exynos. i have a feeling its outselling the iphone4 right now in america. wouldnt surprise me at all.

Are you saying that the iPhone 5 has an advantage over the GS2 and that the GS3 would make it a fair fight? That's funny.

IF we take our emotions out of it (fat chance, but a guy can dream) This would be fun to watch. The Galaxy series is very well known and loved at this point. It is rightly looked at as the top Android you can get. But let's face facts: the iPhone is still the iPhone, and is the most popular single Device on the market. If the iPhone 5 was released with all the hype and marketing behind it, I wonder if the higher specs of the Galaxy 3 with the great rep it has would cut into Apples lead. But I am not interested to hear how it is doing against the 2010 iPhone 4. I am not interested in the iPhone 5 against the already peaked sales of the GS2. I want a straight up fight from the top two devices. FUN!!

Wait so you want a sales numbers or device capability competition? The iPhone 5 is gonna be sick. I assume it will be just as sick as the GS2 for the most part. You trying to compare the iPhone 5 to the GS3 is crazy talk because the GS3 will probably have a quad core cpu and 720p resolution. But yeah iPhone 5 vs. GSII is an epic battle.
