There are three key features that make the Galaxy Note 8 stand out: first, it's the new Dual Camera with portrait mode, then, the S Pen, of course, which is now more capable, and last but not least, it is the combination of a large screen and powerful hardware.

We take a look at these three key characteristics in detail, and we also cover all the other important features of the Note 8 right below.

Dont know if the extra 300 bucks is worth it just for the S pen..... S8+ seems to be a better choice for me at this stage, or maybe pixel 2? Unless the iPhone 8 impresses, or I will either go with a pixel 2 or an imported XiaoMi Mix2

where does the s-pen cost $300? The Note is not an S with a pen. There is more here. I'm not sure its worth $100 more than the Note 7 was. Surely the dual camera and the larger display cost more. And surely more ram cost more too. An yes it will be packed with AKG premium headphones, which by themselves cost $100 on retail. So there is enough to justify the extra $100. But since the phone itself dn't change a whole bunch from last year, I think it should have stayed the same price. The Note 7 was surely worth $800. I though $850 was pushing it. The Note 8 is also worth $800 or even $850 I can accept. But $950 is greed. Again I mentioned things that could add up to an extra $100 per se. But since Samsung really int giving any price discounts like they said they would, then it should have stayed the same price. The Galaxy S should have stayed the same price too. I bought the S8 out of must, because I had to dump my Note 7. I dont have to dump my S8+ and I don't think I'm going too. The wife wants to dump her S8. Its hers she can do as she pleases. But'm keeping my S8+. But anyone who keeps acting liek the Note is a S with a Pen, is a complete idiot because its not. Its a Galaxy with a pen.

the pen don't cost $300 but it's one those main features thats different between the galaxy and note. You can get a s8 for $700 sooo ya kinda worth $300 yes there is more then the note 7 but that doesn't mean you get to charge more. Techlogy becomes old and drops in price fast, This forces companies to keep coming out with new stuff for the sameish price. They just keep pushing it till it crashes. Earbuds worth $100 HAHAHAHA GTFO Barely wirelesss earbuds are worth that. I am so done buying these WAY over priced phones especially since the market has matured so much.

Minus finger print scanner and battery life I am upbeat and eager to buy this tomorrow. I HEAR SPRINT has a 450 price for new customers. Maybe I can swing my nexus 6p from fi for this deal...... I only regret not being able to buy blue tomorrow..... Why..... Why WHY NOT IN BLUE FOR THE US.

The deep sea blue color won't be available worldwide, though.

Why make the phone bigger for something so few people care about? I honestly don't care if the sound goes to the front or the side/bottom. I just don't care for the back facing speakers that used to be common.

That should be included in the Galaxy S9, as the under-display fingerprint tech would probably be mature enough by then.

LOLOLOL this is the mega beast everyone was yammering about??? LMAO the iPhone 8 will eat this thing alive. And I don't even care about the iPhone 8, the only thing I'm looking forward to is the Pixel 2 XL. There is literally nothing new except for the usual new processor, and the new software features would work just fine in Note 7 hardware. LOLOLOL the Note 8 is going to be king, LOL.

The pixel 2 is about as dead as the pixel. Software wise it's great camera wise it's fine aesthetic wise it will be mediocre or just hurl like it the pixel. Boring.... I passed on it for the Note 7, as I will pass on the pixel 2 for the note 8. Half ass screen resolution, and hardware for great software..... If it's you go for it.

Pixel is over priced and inferior to the S7 and S8, you really expect the Pixel 2 to be better?

Interesting, the preorder page is already live here in Canada: Unfortunately, no freebies for pre-ordering this time it appears...we'll see if that changes tomorrow when it's actually meant to "become available for pre-order" as they stated on stage.

My bad, I didn't notice they had moved all the freebies to a separate promotion page: They didn't advertise the freebies up front like they did with the Note 7 on the pre-order page, you just pre-order and redeem to get a Samsung Wireless Charger Convertible plus a Samsung 128GB MicroSD card. Now waiting for reviews before I pull the trigger.
