Samsung Australia reveals "Screen Assure" free Galaxy Note 8 screen repair; launch date August 25th?

Samsung Australia reveals
So far, there has been some question about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8's model number. For the most part, we have seen SM-N950 used to designate the unlocked version of the phablet. And while it really isn't a major deal in the scheme of things, an inadvertent leak by Samsung Australia indicates that the model number of Sammy's next high-end handset is actually SM-N940. That is the model number listed on the Samsung Australia website, which published information about a free screen repair for Note 8 users who break the display.

The "Screen Assure" promotion is being offered by Samsung Australia and there is no word on whether it will be offered in other markets. The promotion begins on Friday, August 25th. That is two-days after the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be unveiled at a Samsung Unpacked event on August 23rd. The promotion runs through October 31st, 2017. Considering that a promotion to repair for free a cracked Galaxy Note 8 screen would be worthless if the phone wasn't in consumers' hands, that could suggest that the device will be launched on August 25th. Samsung could be looking to rush things along considering that Apple's 2017 iPhone models are expected to be unveiled in September.

Can they offer assurance on a lag free experience?

Lag is the least of their problems, considering they are going to start selling end of August, pretty much beginning of September, you would only have 1-2 months to take advantage of the program. Who the hell cracks the screen in 1 month of usage? If Samsung provided this service for up to one year, I would have instantly said, "well done, Samsung" but 1-2months is literally useless

Sorry but where is the free repair will last 2 months? The promotion last 2 months I think not the free replacement.

As a tech enthusiast, the most lag-free experience tops my list when looking for a new cell phone, especially when it costs nearly $1K lol C'mon samsung, get the sh!t right and fix the lag/stutter issues

"Who the hell cracks the screen in 1 month"? For the record, I remember that one kid walked out of Apple store after like a week standing in line then drop the dang thing. Yep it cracks lol.

They are more likely than others to offer a crash free experience.

All I'm asking for Flash. If so, I'm sold on the Note 8. Until then, waiting for the Pixel 2. Samsung lag is one of the most annoying things in the entire mobile tech industry lol.

Lumbergh, I agree with you. I've had 3 samsung galaxy devices and they all lag. Even my previous Note 7 was very laggy. In comparison my Google/Huawei Nexus 6P runs smooth as butter but I do hope Samsung finally fixes the lag in the Note 8 because I really like the pen feature on the Note series.

Note hasn't been rushed in years. Always launches late August or early September.

Man, let it launch on the 25th. If the Note 8 performs as good as the S8 Plus does, it'll be a walk off, bottom 9 homer. This is my next device man, no if ands or buts about it. Hopefully Samsung will offer a free 256 gigster with it, I'll have one for each of my Galaxy's. I'm preordering day one...screw it.

If the Note 8 ends if being $1100, Samaung wipl be shooting themselves in the foot. But its looks pretty darn good. They should have left the camera vertical, so the FPS would have been lower and a better reach for the whiners. Let's see what's up their sleeves. Also Samsung promised Note 7 owners would get some type of price break. If so, are they trying to cover that cost, by charhing full price buyers more? $1100 is just to much for a phone. I mean yea it is a computer and yes its nice to be small, but that's just too much to ask. I miss my Note 7.

OMG will you lame people PLEASE stop b!tching about the price???? If you can't afford it or don't think it's worth it, then simply cross it off your shopping list.

What? Just because a price is set, doesn't mean it's worth it. Just because I have the money, doesn't mean I dont want to spend it wisely. That's why I dont buy Macs. Complaining about the price, doesn't mean I can't afford it. It needa to be worth it. Drop dead, you dont know how much money I have. I know foe a absolute fact, I have more of it than you do.
