Reports say: Galaxy S7 to have USB Type-C port
So, this year, we are starting to see the first smartphones with USB Type-C roll out. What this means is that Android users will get reversible ports – a-la Apple Lightning – as well as faster data transfers. Currently, the phones that don the new ports are few and far between – the OnePlus 2, Xiaomi Mi 4i and Xiaomi Mi 4c, Google's new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, and possibly some other not-so-well-known handsets. Well, it seems that next year may actually be Type-C's time to shine.

According to SamMobile — a site which is usually pretty on-point with its Samsung rumors — informed sources have said that the Galaxy S7 will have the new USB port. We're curious to see if the company will axe its fast charging tech in the name of a reversible cable, though. At least thus far, we haven't seen a USB Type-C handset emplying Qualcomm's Quickcharge. Otherwise – the benefits of Type-C certainly sounds like something Samsung fans would enjoy.

Are you sick of micro USB, or do you just not care about that whole deal with ports?

With the Galaxy Note 5, don't even need a USB connector. Samsung fast charge is way better and Sidesync app do the work for using the Mobile from PC.

well......not everyone knows about sidesync app & it will be a bad move to remove usb port. i'll say it should have type c with usb 3.1 ofcrs (10gbps)

Samsung: Make it USB Type-C with USB 3.1 and you'll make a lot of people happy.

They are too late to the party. Note 5 should have type c The design of S7 is steller. Looking like a part of some aircraft

Actually if they made it thunderbolt 3.0 compatible it would be much faster (40 Gbps transfer speeds) and its backwards compatible with usb 3.1 plus adds way more features

thunderbolt hasn't been adopted that widely ryt now even in pc/laptops, it will take some time for thunderbolt to come to phones (if ever they come)

However, no 2016 flagship will be up to the S7. Sammy Android = A heck of a smartphone!!! nothing else matters

I think 2016 there will be a lot better alternatives to samsung. this year was year of samsung part of reason is SD810 reputation. LG is also making one heck of phones now. next year most probably all OEM share same processors so difference will be less. Beside next year every flagship will have usb type c without a doubt cuz nexus 6P have it now but only game changer will be OEM which use usb 3.1 with type c connector.. also Looks attract once and I double samsung will create new design for smartphones next year..

They should copy some Chinese UI. Let's say MIUI

I would say 950 or 950xl...has fast charge, usb c 3.1, best camera from what we have seen. PC docking ability for continuum. Possible apk sideloading (already being done on preview builds through some steps, same thing as rooting if people want to complain). Also wireless charging too...removable battery, sd storage, dual antenna etc etc.

The renders are pretty, but why bother posting anything that doesn't come from Samsung? All these third party and fan renders do is confuse people who skim articles.

Renders are always more beautiful and premium than the actual phone. I bet, S7 will be lesser than this render
