Report: Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium with 1080p screen is coming to NTT DoCoMo
posted by Alan F. / Sep 05, 2015, 11:49 AM
According to the report, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium will be equipped with a 4.6-inch screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That improves on the 720p resolution display found on the non-Premium Compact model. The battery is receiving a slight bump from 2700mAh to 2900mAh, and the Xperia Z5 Compact Premium will be the only model in the Xperia Z5 line to come with 4GB of RAM inside.
The report also mentions that the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium will be offered only to customers of Japan's NTT DoCoMo. Reportedly, this model will be available soon. If this report is true, there could be some backlash from customers planning to buy the Xperia Z5 Compact.
We recommend taking this report with the proverbial grain of salt until Sony makes this device official.
Thanks for the tip!

Doesn't matter too much to me seeing as it will probably be more expensive and based on reviews, I might just order it from Japan. Still, what I am waiting for is the Dual Sim variant of the compact to surface and will likely by whatever form that manifests in.

IF it is real - instead of complaining let's see if we can get a few hundred thousand Customers in USA/ England willing to pay an extra $ 100 to $150 for the Compact Premium ESPECIALLY with a rugged metal Frame.

I am. I wanted z5c with more ram and fullhd, 600 euro doesn't justify the z5c.

Hmmm.... I couldn't care about the 1080p screen. At 4.6" a 720p screen needs less power and has faster fps for games and media. The 4GB ram is the only reason to actually go 64-bits otherwise you might as we'll stick to KitKat. And the better battery is always welcome. Considering their asking price I'd rather have Z3c with 720p, 4gb ram & 2900mAh battery.

I am not pissed because if I were to buy a Z5, it would be the standard 1080p one with the 5.2 inch screen anyways. But yes, this is what the Z5 compact should be in reality instead of the crap 720p. Regardless of what the in denial sheep say, 750p and 720p is not enough for the Iphone 6s and Z5 compact. 1080p is totally ideal for that size. I mean even the ancient HTC One M7 had a 1080p screen and HTC sucks. The companies that do not suck really should have at least 1080p regardless of the screen size.

Probably exclusive to Japan, because this is likely a collaboration between Sony and Crypton. It will be more expensive than the standard Z5C as well (just look at their previous Hatsune Miku collab), so the improved specs are somewhat justified. If you want it badly, import it from JP. but I doubt it will work properly overseas.

i guess it is fake. they wont equip the compact version with 4gb ram if the 4k premium version only carries 3gb.

I really hope than when Sony execs are huddled together trying to figure out why their mobile division is failing so spectacularly despite, somebody nearby just points at stupid decisions like this one...
