Remember the Tamagotchi? Well, it's back for the Apple Watch
Tamagotchi was a 90s craze of little electronic toys that had a small plastic body, housing an even smaller display. On their monochromic screen, they would give you a representation of an animal, which you need to “care” for from its infancy, to its adulthood. Feed it, play with it, and clean up after it was the mantra of the Tamagotchi owner – all actions that were performed by simply pressing a few buttons on the device. Simple enough, sure, but the little animal sure liked to demand attention often, leading to it beeping in one's pocked once every few minutes. Naturally, the craze ended just as abruptly as it started, and we are fairly sure that plenty of owners actually felt a certain amount of pleasure watching their digital critter die.

Well, Bandai wants to bring it back! It actually tried to do so 2 years ago, by introducing an app for Android, which is now mysteriously gone from the Play Store. Now, it's up on the App Store and you can play it on iPhone, iPad, and (drum roll and tension buildup, please) Apple Watch! That's right, if your Watch is not already beeping and vibrating enough from emails, texts, and notifications throughout the day, you can now have a live-in digital critter that will require your attention for the rest of the time.

The app costs $0.99 and is available right now, so, if you feel nostalgic for your old keychain-riding buddy, or feel like checking out what this fad was about back in the day – the link is below, enjoy!

Download for iOS ($0.99)
