Remember the Tamagotchi? Well, it's back for the Apple Watch
Tamagotchi was a 90s craze of little electronic toys that had a small plastic body, housing an even smaller display. On their monochromic screen, they would give you a representation of an animal, which you need to “care” for from its infancy, to its adulthood. Feed it, play with it, and clean up after it was the mantra of the Tamagotchi owner – all actions that were performed by simply pressing a few buttons on the device. Simple enough, sure, but the little animal sure liked to demand attention often, leading to it beeping in one's pocked once every few minutes. Naturally, the craze ended just as abruptly as it started, and we are fairly sure that plenty of owners actually felt a certain amount of pleasure watching their digital critter die.

Well, Bandai wants to bring it back! It actually tried to do so 2 years ago, by introducing an app for Android, which is now mysteriously gone from the Play Store. Now, it's up on the App Store and you can play it on iPhone, iPad, and (drum roll and tension buildup, please) Apple Watch! That's right, if your Watch is not already beeping and vibrating enough from emails, texts, and notifications throughout the day, you can now have a live-in digital critter that will require your attention for the rest of the time.

The app costs $0.99 and is available right now, so, if you feel nostalgic for your old keychain-riding buddy, or feel like checking out what this fad was about back in the day – the link is below, enjoy!

Download for iOS ($0.99)

by the time you get o the app the app on Android wear the tamagotchi will die go look up the UI on Android wear it's more about google now cards and google search getting to apps is such a pain point , requires far too many steps , Android wear is more about notifications , while Apple watch is more app centric. the difference in this respect is so huge it's not even funny, this is why Apple watch will get more apps , it's easier to discover and launch them , not to mention digital crown is a X factor for easy to use apps on a watch display.

I love back in the days where you only play POGS, tag, hide-and-seek. Now it's videogames and social media *fate in humanity lost*

Contrary to popular belief, kids actually still do this. You should visit a kids's school and see for yourself during the breaks.

They published a mobile app a few years ago. The age range of the Apple Watch market strikes me as too high for a child's game (after the initial novelty value wears off).

I have a 3DS with Pokemon X, and Alpha Sapphire, the experience is much better. My I would love to have this on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and soon, Moto 360.

so far from what i've seen , apple mostly advertised the watch straps and didnt say much about what the smart watch is capable of beside vibrating and sending ur heart beats least u pay 350$ to play on tamagutchi because without and iphone the watch cant even send ur heart beats not to say any if battery will dry up during the day on ur phone (as you will have to sinc the watch with ur phone the battery will be even worse than now ) the apple watch will be as usefull as a 5 $ watch
