Razer Phone 2 to be introduced on October 10th
Yesterday, we showed you a render of the Razer Phone 2. We pointed out that the date on the lock screen read Wednesday, October 10th, which we considered a clue as to when the sequel to the gaming phone could be unveiled. Well as it turned out, Razer sent out "save the date" invites today that confirm that October 10th will be the date that the Razer Phone 2 is officially introduced.

Side-by-side, the new Razer looks nearly identical to the old model as both models carry a 5.7-inch display. But the sequel has thicker bezels than the original Razer Phone, the opposite of what has been happening in the industry. We do expect to see the new version powered by the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform, and carry 512GB of native storage. In addition the high-end handset will have Android 9 Pie pre-installed. There is no reason not to expect the sequel to have the same 120Hz refresh rate for the display found in the original. That zippy rate allows games and visual media to run very smoothly. And the 4000mAh battery that keeps the lights burning on the first-gen Razer, should find its way into the sequel.

The original Razer Phone is currently on sale. It is available for $300 off the usual $699 price, directly from the manufacturer. But that's no surprise; Razer needs to make room in the warehouse for the Razer Phone 2, which could go on sale starting October 24th.
