Pull down and play - Overglide is a game contained inside the iOS Notifications Center
Overglide is an innovative iOS game that you won't remember for its rich content - it's a primitive obstacle dodger - but you'll surely remember for its format. It's a game you can play inside your iDevice's Notifications panel! That's right - just pull down on it, and Overglide is there, primed and ready for the next round of stressed-out tapping to dodge obstacles.

For all we know, this is the first app to take such advantage of iOS 8's Live Widgets capability, and while the game is as bland as it gets, the idea behind it is brilliant! It's something Apple could have thought of to showcase those live widgets. We suspect Overglide is a trend-starter. Only developers and their imaginations know how creative they can get within the confines of a live widget.

Scant it may be, but Overglide features Game Center integration and it lets you share your high score on Facebook and Twitter. But mostly, it is the $0.99 progenitor of lock-screen gaming. What comes next?

This looks actually fun. This is how mobile games should be.

It took just a few weeks for Apple to leapfrog android in this area.

Guess you and I have completely different definitions of leapfrog. While I also think widgets in the notifications are a cool feature. Android widgets are a lot more versatile (and yes they can be in the notification area too)

Uh... this is saying something. Like we are so lazy that we can't even open an app to play a game.
