Poll results: HTC 10 beats OnePlus 3 in our popularity contest
Both the HTC 10 and the OnePlus 3 have one thing in common – they don't aspire to bring a slew of gimmicks, trying to sparkle their way into customers' hearts, but are just focused, well-built, metal-clad Android smartphones. And, in a market where every manufacturer strives to come up with the next wacky gimmick – you may consider simplicity and honesty in a device to be a feature.

It's inevitable that when one considers buying one of these two handsets, the other one should immediately pop in their head as an alternative. And, once you are presented with that choice, which one would you pick?

We polled our readers yesterday and here's what the voters had to say about it:

If the choice was down to buying one of these two phones, which one would you get?

OnePlus 3
46.86%
HTC 10
53.14%

Sorry, but it was obvious that HTC 10 was going to win.

Hi, i need ur help, is this the same htc which is the worst company on earth that is failing to sell even 1 million units for its substandard flagship called '10'? Ur guidence will be appreciated. Btw i used htc m9 for 5 months and it was worst mobile i ever used. I use a note 5 and ipad pro and ipad air 2 (recently sold my iphone 6, and s6 edge plus). Im saying for the benefit of informing an average customer that i prefer premium or atleast 'working' smartphones instead of this 'garbage' htc produces and shamelessly calls it their flagship?

Seret6 i had several HTC from HTC Desire HD , HTC one S , HTC one M7 , M8 and M9 and i loved them. Rock solid phone. the most smooth UI i ever used on android. Only thing thats was bad was camera starting with m7 to m9. So instead of talking out of your ass care to share what you did not like and why instead of just trolling?

More like a tie, but op3 gonna sell more.

Yep, OnePlus 3 is selling well. They're having trouble keeping up with orders.

I am surprised that it beats it with such a small margin.

What's even more surprising is that the OnePlus 3 will sell more than the HTC 10. Just wait and see.

Of course after the lesson from Brexit, will you trust this hideous emotion-made poll? Out of 700 HTC voters above, I can imagine only less than 10 will consider purchase with heartbeat.

You haven't used that phone or you get a serious faulty device. It is not garbage at all, unless you compare with Samsung.

Is this something new, HTC 10 has beaten every smartphone on any website. Opposition may see its voting vs on any site and then please after that try to mock me.

The HTC 10 is an awesome phone. I am so happy I bought it and I would buy it again.

I wold get the HTC 10, however the reason why the HTC 10 is not selling well is the price tag. They dont have a popularuty like they once did to sell their phone at the premium $699.99 price tag. The same goes for LG G5. In order for these less popular phones to complete with the iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S7, they need to sell cheaper, at least $150. The OnePlus 3 has stellar specs for $400, and I feel the HTC 10 at $550 or better yet $500 is the sweet spot.

The reason why the HTC 10 isn't selling well has nothing to do with its price and everything to do with its brand recognition and marketing strategy. The OP3 isn't selling all that great either, even being cheaper to buy. I don't know where or why people think price has that much affect on sales. If that were the case, the iPhone and Galaxy wouldn't sale so many units. HTC lacks the resources to properly market the 10 to consumers, and most people don't know what a "OnePlus " is. Outside of places like India and China where poverty rampant, price has little to no affect on consumer electronics.

agreed. Make 32 gb version 500$ and 64 or 128 gb version for 599$ and you have a winner there. But they also need to bring it to all carrier with no exclusive.. in Canada only 1 carrier have it how do you expect it to sell well?

or just buy the One plus 3 with 64GB at 399. No tax and free shipping.

If I cared about have the best camera I would go with the HTC 10 but since I only care about having a good camera, I have to go with the OP3 because it beats the 10 in everything I care about the most. Posted this comment because I didn't vote yesterday.

Performance, price, they have about the same battery life but OP3 has a much faster charge time. My personal preference, Design, screen size and resolution.

Wasn't this covered already? you have a very selective memory.

Yeah marorun, you're wrong here. There's a lot that the OnePlus has over the HTC 10. If it didn't, I would be seriously considering it for a purchase in the next couple months while the HTC isn't even a thought in my mind. The HTC 10 is a great phone, yes, but the OnePlus has a combination of factors that makes it even better. With all the Dev support and OnePlus' design choices leaving so much ceiling for improvement on so many aspects of the phone, the OnePlus is a powerful phone with far more potential than the HTC 10.
