OnePlus giving out to contest winners, 5000 invites to buy the 64GB OnePlus One
OnePlus is taking months to sell fewer handsets than Xiaomi does in ten seconds, using its "Hunger Marketing" tactics. But the manufacturer of the OnePlus One is about to give contest winners 5000 invitations to buy its phone, in what is being called "The Blizzard of Invites." Those receiving an invitation will be able to purchase the 64GB Sandstone Black model for $349.

So far, there are just under 189,000 entries posted by those trying to win the invite. 10 out of the 5000 invitation winners will receive for free, one of those fabulous looking bamboo covers (normally $49 each) that we showed you the other day. There are four ways to be entered in the contest. You can write a message in the OnePlus forum. Or, you can like OnePlus on Facebook. Another way to enter the contest is to follow @oneplus on Twitter, or you can follow OnePlus on Instagram.

You must enter the contest before 9:15am EDT this morning. The winners will be announced 72 hours after the end of the event. Remember, winners do not receive a free phone, only an opportunity to purchase the device.

OnePlus is just trying out new marketing tactic. Good luck to them. Buying XiaoMi always give me the rush. That's why i am on their every sales. Already bought 3 RedMi Notes.

So if i enter i might win the chance to spend 350 dollars with them? Nah I'd rather just walk into a shop and buy a decent phone. It might have worked for google, but that was a product people wanted........people dont really want this.

You have to win an invite lol I really doubt if it's really FIVE THOUSAND, knowing how fishy this company is They're just bloating the figures up to stay relevant and avoid the heat from consumers holding pitchforks

A stupid invitation for buying OneMinus One. No thanks. I can directly spend my $350 dollars on anything.

Somehow I got two invites as the early forum member (under the same account), and I did purchase one OnePlus One. With the yellow screen issue I might have to deal with, I just sold it on eBay and use the money on something else. Hopefully their OnePlus "Two" will be a lot better quality.

I sold it yesterday...I also hope their next iteration would be better and they'd have learned few lessons on the way.

I got invite in strom of invites contest...bought Oneplus One phone and sold it yesterday (after 2 weeks)...It's good phone but there are some issues that Oneplus think are feature. Like yellow band at the bottom of screen...and that was reason I sold my phone.

So wait they can give away a high volume of invites to buy a phone but people still can't buy one without said invite? Sounds to me they finally have quite a number in stock if that's the case. This is where I hope Xiaomi will have a distributor in the US seeing as OnePlus doesn't seem to give a cr*p.

I got their email saying I could do something for them so I would have some tiny chance to win an invite. I just deleted it. This sort of marketing is insulting. Buying a OnePlus One is like paying $350 for someone to give me a headache. There's just too many problems with this phone and company. I'd rather spend slightly more and get a real phone from a real company with real support.

LOL, on THEIR OWN USER forums, someone mentioned the Huawei Ascend Mate2...didn't give it a 2nd look because of the specs, but then people started talking about how good it was ON THE ONE PLUS forums, bought one, and WOW! So what, no zillion pixel density screen, no 801 processor, no 3 gb ram, no kit kat...big whoop! Faster than my note1, screen is great, speaker LOUDER and 2-3 days of battery life? Keep the one, I didn't have to be "invited" to spend my money!
