Official Nexus 7 folio case now available in Google Play

Official Nexus 7 folio case now available in Google Play
The Google Play Store just keeps getting new items in the devices section today. We've already seen two new Google Play Edition devices - the LG G Pad 8.3 and the Sony Z Ultra - as well as the new white Nexus 7. Now, if maybe you don't care much about the color of your Nexus 7 and would rather use a case, two official folio cases are now available for your tablet.

The case will add a fair bit of bulk to your Nexus 7, but it is a nice looking case. It adds a bumper around the perimeter of the tablet and a cover that can fold into a triangle just like the iPad Smart Cover. As you would expect, it also includes magnets to hold the cover in place and to automatically wake and sleep the device when you open and close the cover.

As with most accessories in the Play Store, it is a bit expensive at $49.99, but it is available in both bright red and black and ships in 1 to 2 days.

I'd never buy any OEM case or accessory unless they were on sale/clearance. Even the GS3/GS4 flip cover cases were $40 when they first came out. I got a nicer case off Amazon for my Nexus 7 for $15.00. The Nexus wireless charger is $50 or you can get one for $30 off Amazon. If you want to spend $40-$50 on a case get an Outterbox. Accessories have the biggest mark ups and if where Google tried to recoup some of the money lost for selling the handsets at such a low price.

I don't like it. I think it looks cheap, and I agree with Mxyzptlk it is over priced I would pay $19.95 tops for that. There is better way cheaper stuff for the Nexus 7 on Ebay from Chinas slow boat.

Is it me or is everything in the Google Play devices store waay overpriced besides the Nexus devices? The GPE phones and accessories are ridiculously overpriced.

I'm sorry, and how much does an Apple Smart Case cost? Oh? $69.00? Oh, really? But $49.99 is overpriced? Is it? Really? Is that what you're saying? Uh huh? Really? Faaaaaascinating...

What does this have to do with Apple?

He was just making a legitimate comparison. They're both similar products from opposing companies, it's only natural to compare them. So, answer the question; why is this overpriced and not Apple's version of it, even though Apple's is more expensive for essentially the same product?

The iPad Smart Case is a little overpriced, but it's not some cheap bumper with a cover selling for $50, either. Google accessories are overpriced junk. The Orb was garbage, the N4 bumper was garbage, and the N5 cases are a complete ripoff.

What? Oh, nothing. Just a cough. One question though, do you also think the Smart Case is overpriced?
