Nokia 8 price in Europe is lower than it was previously announced

The first Nokia-branded flagship smartphone launched by HMD was introduced this week and it's already available for pre-order in some European countries. The good news is the Nokia 8 will not be as expensive (not that it's too expensive, on the contrary) as HMD announced during the launch event.

Although HMD stated that Nokia 8 will be available for purchase in Europe for around €600, many retailers across the continent are selling the smartphone for less. For example, German carriers O2 and Mobilcom Debitel offer the Nokia 8 for just €577 and €579, respectively.

On top of that, customers who pre-order the flagship via O2 will also receive a free Nokia Steel smartwatch, which usually retails for €129.95.

Another country where you may pre-order the Nokia 8 for less than the suggested retail price is Russia. Megafon has just opened pre-orders for the smartphone and allows customers to reserve one for only €575 outright.

Even though the discount might not seem that high, it will most certainly increase sales of the smartphone, at least in the first few weeks. Do you plan on getting the new Nokia 8 when it becomes available in your country?

Lesser price than originally thought + the Steel Smartwatch for free with preorder sounds like a win to me! Hoping that same deal somehow comes stateside when the Nokia 8 becomes available here.

Ew, only 4GB of ram? That is crap..especially with all the phones being at least 6GB

If RAM management is being done properly, even 3GB is enough nowadays..... I have no problems with plenty of background services and active apps... And sure, the more the merrier... But don't forget that there are videos out there showing 4GB beating 8GB due to different implementations and optimizations... (XZ Premium vs OnePlus 5)

agreed, optimization matter more. And Nokia 8 has two variant one with 4GB ram and other with 6GB ram. with stock android 4GB will be plenty compare to bloated android with 6GB ram. free ram is what matter.

Another thing that matters is how much aggressive is the closing of apps in the background.

There is nokia 8 with 6gb ram with 128gb internal storage. Maybe this one that carry €599 price tag.

Not in my iphone 7+ loser. Software and hardware works absolutely amazing. I don’t know with other oem except pixel.

the XZ Premium crushes the competition with "just" 4GB... And the XZ with 3GB is on par to the optimization of the iPhone 7 and 7plus

iPhone 7 has 2 GB

The stock os makes 4gb more than enough. This isn't a Samsung phone that requires 10gb just to run properly. Be worried about those massive bezels.

You sure weren't worried about those massive bezels on the iPhone, hypocrite.

Are you still deflecting with the iphone? Stop crying so much.

Are you still deflecting from the fact that you're a hypocrite? Stop getting so triggered because I called you out on your hypocrisy, and stop crying on every Nokia, BlackBerry and Samsung article all of the time.

No one is crying except you. Your tears are beginning to form a lake with more salinity than the Dead Sea.

And yet, here you are, crying salty tears of rage because I called you out on your hypocrisy.

Stock Android won't matter much if the RAM management isn't good. The Pixel is a prime example of it. Can't even keep a few heavy apps open in the background even though it has 4GB of RAM.

Far more optimized than the Galaxy S devices.

Stop deflecting. He's not talking about Galaxy S devices. But I do understand that you're abdominally wounded because he mentioned the Pixel in a way you don't like, even though it's true and we both know that you're not getting a Pixel, anyway. You just say it to attempt to justify your trolling of Android.

Show me where I said he did. You're just mad because I use android devices despite your barrage of Apple deity insults. You're just mad because the Pixel will potentially be a far better phone than the Nokia 8. That's a fact whether you want to admit it or not.

Lol, you're so triggered. The that you brought up Galaxy S devices when he was talking about the Pixel proves my point. Nothing else is needed. And who do you think you're kidding? Everyone here knows that you don't use any Android device. I already proved that when I called you out for your photoshopped Nexus 6P Imgur. Your opinion on the Pixel vs the Nokia 8 is subjective at best, and far from a fact. And everything I just posted is a fact, and facts don't require you to accept them.

I will get this because I liked my previous lumia 1020 camera. Carl zeiss cameras are good and I'm expecting nokia 8 to have that awesome quality come reviews.

Carl Zeiss are not camera, they make glass lens.... Which has little to no benefit for smartphones, except the brand to brag about.

When I said 600 euro is too much, some of you mofo jumped on me. Now it is starting to be priced right to get the sales Nokia needs, so all of you who were contradicting me are proven to have nothing to do with doing business.

Nokia fans are aware of that, European price is Higher than global price. Nokia 8 will be less than $600 in other countries, probably in oneplus 5 territory.

Well, I just don't like it when people that know nothing about a subject are giving opinions about that subject.

You are not correct as well, snowflake. People jumped at you because you stated that that price point is 600£ which is actually below. And you are still entitled to not like people giving opinion about your opinion?

First of all, use nicknames when you're talking to you mother, lover, child, whoever you want, but not me. Second, for a lot of people (me included) iPhone is the best all-around phone on the market, iP 7 - last year phone - is even better than S8 (I'm not going to go into details and polemics, because this is not up for debate for me and a lot of other people); once the new iP arrives, the 7 will be ~600 euros (just like this Nokia 8) so it would be a dumb price point to try to sell more than the iPhone (let's not forget that this is the phone that has the most sales) or than the S8 (which is the second phone at sells). To gain market share, Nokia should place its product in 500 euro price range, with a true flagship (by Android standards) with some key feature that no other phone has (maybe a Pureview cam, maybe AR) being placed in 6-650 euro price range. No matter what phone I would use, no matter if you like Apple or not, this is going to be true, because this is how business works.
