Nexus 6 logo peeling off? No problemo, watch Dom fix it (because Motorola won't)
The Nexus 6 might be a 6-inch mountain of a phablet, which doesn't mean it's not an utter softie in some regards - like build quality. Remember the detaching back plate? Well, it's the back plate again - a number of users have taken photos of their handsets' logos coming off. It's not a widespread problem, but sadly, it does happen to honest Nexus 6-owning ladies and gentlemen out there. According to Dom Esposito, the problem is explained by the corners of the silver letters getting caught on fabric and stretching the adhesive to its limits.

Unlike last time, Google & Motorola's support weren't very cooperative, so Dom took matters in his hands, got a replacement cover from eBay, and installed it himself on video. Of course, one can simply peel off the entire logo and end up with a Nexus 5-like color-less branding. But replacing the cover when its time comes is, certainly, the more eye-catching option. Plus, you'll get to tear open the Nexus 6 and gawk at its computer-y insides!

This happened to me on the HTC One M8... The HTC Logo peeled off also.

There's so many problems with the Nexus 6 launched and reports of it being severely half baked. I don't think Google and Motorola did a good job with quality control.

I've already had to send three back to T-Mobile. First one refused to upgrade to 5.0.1, even though I didn't modify it in any way. Second one started being very moody about when it would charge. Sometimes I'd have to reboot it three or four times before it finally picked up a charge. Third, the screen had a slight pink hue, even when brightness was all the way up. Waiting on my fourth one to arrive in the mail now. I'll be moving onto the M9 as soon as it comes out. I've never been so disappointed with a device before.

I hope you do get a good one this time. It's pretty sad that Moto couldn't pull this off especially they have been making quality devices for a while (mostly for Verizon). However, I would have just painted that peel off part some other color :p Get some personal touch on that. Gold would look nice.

People usually gave previous Nexus devices a pass for lower quality standards because they were so damn cheap, but not only does the Nexus 6 have more problems than the Nexus 4 or 5 ever had, it's at full retail price. Unacceptable. We need a Sony or HTC made Nexus 5 2015 edition with a $350-400 price tag. Motorola did a great job building the Moto X series, but apparently they didn't put the same effort into the Nexus 6. Really disappointing.

Sony or HTC never have quality issues? I agree with your points about the multitude of these issues being unacceptable, but no OEM is immune. A Sony or HTC made Nexus could potentially have its own set of problems.

I'm not saying they'd be immune, but I do think they would do a better job. Motorola has the potential to build a good device, they did it with both Moto X, but they obviously cut corners with the Nexus 6. I feel like HTC and Sony take more pride in their build quality.

The Nexux 6 is really off to a bad start. Maybe Google should have stayed with LG after all. Don't expect Verizon to release it any time soon with so many issues happening.
