Nexus 5 press shots leak, and new availability info

Nexus 5 press shots leak, and new availability info
Just in case you haven't gotten enough rumors and leaks about the Google Nexus 5, we are also seeing the first leaked press shots of the device coming from Telus in Canada. We also just saw the Nexus 5 appear briefly in the Google Play Store for $349, and we heard a new theory that is claiming that the announcement could come as soon as Monday October 21st.

The press shots come from Telus, although there isn't much new to see in the pics. The only thing we would note is the UI change of the folder icon in Android 4.4 which is now a flat gray circle with more icons easily visible. The report also mentions that the Nexus 5 will be coming to carriers in Canada, but again no specifics there.

As far as U.S. availability, Jeff Jarvis confirmed yesterday on This Week in Google that the Best Buy display we saw is indeed for the Nexus 5. Additionally, he said that he talked to a manager at Best Buy who apparently said that there would not be the same supply issues that we saw with the Nexus 4. It seems that Google has plenty of stock, and will be launching the device in a number of retail stores, possibly on multiple carriers in the U.S. (we'd guess T-Mobile and AT&T, but we wouldn't expect Sprint at first or Verizon ever.)

SMS through hangouts. Yes, I love it. Love my Note 3 but my favorite phone has still been my Nexus. I really hope the Note 3 gets 4.4 available quickly. Otherwise I may need to buy a Nexus.

It's not that serious.

Unfortunately, I would be surprised if the Note 3 got 4.4 before the S5 releases. Even more sad, that will be faster than most OEMs update their devices to 4.4.

I've said this and will still say it again...release it worldwide with similar pricing and you will see how popular the Nexus series will be...

Finally a confirmed shot of the 4.4 homescreen! I have to say I was skeptical about it at first, but after looking at it for a while, it's kind of growing on me. No more boring black background gradients.

I hope the hangouts with SMS is cool. I also feel like how the heck is supposed to work since 90%+ will still be on 4.3 or lower..

349$ equals to 700 Liras in my country. Apple iphone 5's price is 2000 Liras so It would be blow the other phones
