New images of purported working Galaxy S8 with colorful screen protectors pop up
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ leaks keep on coming fast and furious, Seoul Drift edition, and and it is entirely normal, as we are nearing the official announcement during Samsung's Unpacked event planned for March 29th. This waterfall of depictions consists mainly of dummy units given to carriers or screen protector makers to train reps or test their wares, but every now and then a live, working machine wiggles its way into the news stream.

What you see below is purportedly the Galaxy S8 with the now-familiar home, back and menu keys in the navigational strip the bottom of the screen, an always-on display set depicting the time/date and battery percentage, as well as the power-off screen. Some of these are pretty familiar to folks from previous leaks, or from the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

What we are a bit miffed about, though, is the fact that the phones have colorful fronts in blue, silver and white, whereas @evleaks posted the fronts of the Black Sky, Orchid Grey and Arctic Silver versions yesterday, and they were all black. Given that most Galaxy S8 leaks this season have come from screen protector makers, however, it is entirely possible that what we are seeing here is an S8 machine covered with an extra layer of tempered glass that may have been painted by the accessory maker in various colors to match the rear panel, for those who might want their looks uniform all around. There are similar screen protectors on the market now for the S7 edge, even though that one is uniformly colored front and back.

Sure it's a screen protector, look at those damn black line around the screen...

And not very high quality ones at that. They are not very uniform, and look really unnatural with that glare that comes off from plastic, not glass.

S7 and S7 edge with those colored screen protectors looked weird too.

Looks great, just wish they made a flat screen version... interesting that the corners are cut off on all these new devices G6 and S8 - I like how that looks (very conforming), I really don't think they'll be an issue cutting off edges in movies and games - but some UI would need to be adjusted - looking at some games I'm playing - which shows information that would partially be cut off...

Yeah looking really great but imo Note8 would be worth the wait.

Oh yeah for me Note series is the winner - it's got the only thing that I want in a device that iPhone doesn't have - embedded s-pen.

Yeah, that's why they are bad photos.

Both the front and back looks ugly. This is a huge downgrade from S7/S7 edge in both design and spec race.

Omg. I actually thought that only the black will look good due to the holes on top, but its starting to grow on me.

They actually look good even in other colours!

I just hope that they have a gold unit!

Curved screens are just pretty to look at. They serve no other purpose.

What more does it need to do? Please give us insight on the topic since you brought it up?

It dos serve another purpose. Having a main purpose, doesn't mean it doesn't have an alternative one...right?

I mean you mouth is designed to speak and eat. But it hasn't stopped people from using it for other things like things related to "sex"...right?

Curved glass serves as an asthetic which you alluded too, but also encompasses the Edge UI which offers extra benefits though redundant for those who want to use it.

Looking at the screen of your phone is kind of its main purpose.

All I can say is, if Samsung chose to keep all the devices black in the from, to help hide those ugly holes, then it was a very smart move.

Also the front of a phone to me doesn't have to match the back.

remind me of Nokia N8 design, but with no bazles Rory Samsung ugly design will keep S7 edge.
