New image of third-generation Motorola Moto X appears

New image of third-generation Motorola Moto X appears
The latest image alleged to be that of the third-generation Motorola Moto X, was discovered on a Google+ account of a Brazilian gentleman by the name of Roger Pretto. The device does bare some resemblance to an earlier picture that is alleged to be that of the next-generation Moto X. The metal frame on both handsets do have a similar appearance. However, there are some differences, such as the shape of the flash unit on both models.

The third-gen Moto X that was found on Mr. Pretto's Google+ account actually looks quite similar to a picture showing the rear panel of a rumored new Motorola DROID mini that is supposedly heading to Verizon. Three other rear panels appear in that photograph, including one claiming to belong to the Moto X. But once again, we run into the contradiction of the flash. The rear panel that allegedly belongs to the third-generation Moto X in that lineup has a lozenge shaped flash as opposed to the circular one on the Google+ image.

There could be a easy answer. As you recall, there are reportedly two different third-generation Moto X variants on the way. One is 5.2-inches and the other is 5.7-inches. That could explain the difference. The last word we heard on the larger model was that only Verizon had showed interest in it.

With all of this confusion, we would suggest taking this story with a grain of salt. But we do want to leave those planning to buy the next Moto X with a good feeling, so we will tell you that according to Mr. Pretto, Motorola has upgraded the camera and the battery on the phone.

Dont come to any conclusions now, wait for the official release. I have a theory. If the new Moto G has MotoMaker option then that metal strip on the back of these phones (X and G) should be the same. So 2 and 4 should be Moto G and Moto X respectively.

moto gets sold off to Lenovo and immediately starts to look cheaper in quality. Such a shame.

That coupled with the poor decisions of Motorola management means the slow death of Motorola.

Now I was under the impression that the phone on the far right of the third image was the 2015 Moto X. The new picture appears to be the phone on the far left of the third image, going off of the shape and texture of the back panel and shape of the flash. Interesting enough, this device and the one I had perceived to be the new Moto X are roughly about the same size so I don't think that these are the 5.2" and 5.7" models of the same phone.

Typical Moto style. Need to see how moto can manage battery life with the Snapdragon 810/808 and Lollipop. So far other makers are struggling.

Really like the pattern of the back but I hope it will not catch too much dust.

I recall saying the same thing regarding the 2nd Gen Moto X with leaked photos. But once the final version made its public debut I really liked the way it looked. I say hold your opinion until we get a lot at the actual retail product.

Idk what anyone above is talking about. I'm really feeling the design, especially if that's metal framing oin the side. This or the new nexus will be replacing my moto x first gen this year

What is with that camera module strip thingy. Sigh. Slowly loosing faith in Moto. They need new designers.

LOL, am I the only one who digs the backplate design? :'( Whatever, I think I am going to wait for 3rd-gen Moto G to come here, if the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM version will be available over here. Otherwise I'm going for Lumia (o‿-)
