New alleged Huawei Mate 8 photo reveals a thin, metallic design

New alleged Huawei Mate 8 photo reveals a thin, metallic design
Later this month, Huawei will (most likely) announce a new premium smartphone called Mate 8. We've already seen an image allegedly showing the upcoming device, but a protective case didn't really allow us to take a good look at it. Fortunately, there's now a new photo that seems to be revealing the back of the Mate 8 in its entirety.

If what we're seeing below is indeed the Huawei Mate 8, the handset clearly has a round fingerprint scanner below its rear camera - just like the Google Nexus 6P (which, as you may know, is manufactured by Huawei).

We can also spot a microUSB port at the bottom of the device, plus what seem to be dual speakers flanking the port. Overall, the smartphone appears to be pretty thin.

Just like the Mate7 that was released last year, the Mate 8 is expected to be a very large device that sports a 6-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. Other features could include an octa-core Kirin 950 processor, 16 MP or 13 MP rear camera, 8 MP front-facing camera, and a generous battery with fast charging capabilities. The Mate 8 might have two variants: one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space, and a more expensive one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space.

We're expecting Huawei to officially unveil the Mate 8 on November 26. Interested?

The only thing that concerns me is from the specs leaked so far, the biggest upgrade from the Mate 7 is the processor. Other than that, this doesn't appear to be a big step up from the 7. 'Force Touch'? No, that's not a big deal to me. If it has a substantially better camera, that could draw me in, but so far I'm not that impressed by the features for the price they're going to be asking.

Meanwhile in Malaysia, Mate S 64gb priced as much as Note5 32gb dual sim variant. Anyway Mate S came with harmon kardon earphone. Judging by Mate S, this Mate 8 may cost more than Samsung flagship.

The Mate flagship devices are sold expensively. Huawei better lower their asking price. Another issue is their slow update.

Carrying over the design of Mate S but with K950 chip, better camera and most likely will include the force touch as well.

That design look amazing from the Mate 7. If Huawei includes the fast charging technology in this phone(or hopefully next year's model). They will have my money. As long as they dont have anything the Chinese government can track my info on of course.

looks like u can say bye bye to fast charge as it doesn't have usb type c what I am actually disappointed.. I think this gonna be no purchase for me .. For 2016 phones should have type c with fast charger

You do not need USB type C for fast charging, Type C does offer native fast charging, but there are other options available. S6 supports fast charging as well as MXPE and those do not have type C.

LG V10s cousin. That Kirin 950 is going to be a silent beast, and I'm expecting the camera performance to hold up really well, as it upgraded to better dual 14bit ISP at 940MPs. We can't forget the next gen T880 GPU too!

Mate S sibling then :) Still questioning that fast charging tech. Plus those dual speaker most likely a speaker/audio port anyway.

The GPU is only a T880 MP4 variant. ln the other hand, Samsung have a T880 MP12 GPU. HiSilicon and Mediatek are always behind the competition in terms of GPU perfomance.

What if the MP4 can run UI+games smooth ? Would you pay more to get 100k antutu ?

Expect to pay the same price for lower performance instead. Huawei flagship is not cheap anymore.
