A Samsung Gear S4 smartwatch might be released this year

A Samsung Gear S4 smartwatch might be released this year
Samsung is reportedly working on a brand new smartwatch that should succeed the Gear S3 series (launched in late 2016) and the Gear Sport (released in October 2017). According to SamMobile, the new watch has the model number SM-R800, and might be called Samsung Gear S4. For now, though, this name can't be confirmed.

At the moment, there aren't many details about this alleged Samsung Gear S4. However, it's said that the watch should - unsurprisingly - bring upgraded internals, as well as enhanced fitness capabilities, including more accurate sleep tracking.

Similar to its predecessors, the Gear S4 will most probably run Samsung's own Tizen OS, thus it's not going to be a Wear OS watch. Furthermore, we’re expecting the new device to be compatible with both Android, and iOS phones - just like the Gear S3 Classic (pictured above), Gear S3 Frontier, and Gear Sport.

Unfortunately for those waiting for a new Samsung-made smartwatch to hit the market, the Gear S4 SM-R800 might not be released before the fourth quarter of the year (October - December). We'll keep a close eye on this to let you know more as soon as new information is available.

Never thought I'd want Tizen. But, since Google and Apple are proving to be EVIL companies, I'm ready for a Tizen OS phone next.

I wonder how it'll stack up against the next apple watch.

Considering the S3 is already way better than the Apple watch I'm sure it will be fine

This is all opinion based. To Apple users like myself the Apple Watch is ideal but only because I have not used a Samsung SmartWatch and vice versa. It's all based on preference.

Hopefully they slim down the face, the ones on the S3 was too bulky

Digital Watches should be rectangular to optimize written information space, they should have enough battery to run for 2 days with intensive use. I would pay an extra $ 100 to get one that is not round. Phones should have a none breakable easy to grip (not slippery) back.

Another OVERPRICED "smart" watch. Get them down under 150 bucks, they'd sell better. A solution to a problem that never existed.
