Motorola XOOM maintenance update out now
The Motorola XOOM version for Verizon is right now receiving a maintenance update from the carrier, HTJ85. The OTA update brings improvements in movie rentals offering more stability to the whole process and when viewing a movie using the HDMI connection, the screen will resize automatically. The update adds a Screen Scaling Compatibility Mode which will allow you to switch to double pixel mode for certain applications. In this mode, drop-down menus are doubled as are sub-menus for apps. Pixel doubling settings are saved for each app.

The update brings new support for microSD cards so that you can use a file manager to view all of the pictures, music, video and other important things stored on your microSD card. Also, you can use a connection to your PC or Mac to write content to your SD card. After installing the maintenance update, you will be able to improve the quality of viewing streaming media by adjusting the bit rate based on the bandwidth of the client. Finally, a new policy for ExchangeActiveSync will allow you to recover a lost, forgotten or missing password.

You can check out the entire changelog at the sourcelink. While it is an OTA update, you can look for it by going to Settings, About Tablet, to System Updates. And while this maintenance update is offered only to the Verizon version of the tablet, there is a chance that it will eventually be offered to those with the Wi-Fi version of the Motorola XOOM.
