Motorola DROID BIONIC release date set for September 8, TV ad says so
Well, it looks like the release date for the much anticipated Motorla DROID BIONIC has just been confirmed. It was brought to our attention that a commercial promoting the hot smartphone is already rolling with September 8 clearly mentioned at its very end.

Actually, an earlier version of that very same “Rule all machines” ad has been circulating the web for some time. However, it never mentioned a specific launch date for the DROID BIONIC and only hinted that the smartphone will be out at some point this month. On the other hand, a September 8 release date was what several leaks from a pretty credible source were pointing at, namely Verizon's internal system, so it was only a matter of time until the launch date got confirmed in a more official manner.

We have embedded the evidence for you below so feel free to watch it and tell us what you think in the comments. Anyone thinking of heading to a Verizon store first thing in the morning in about 6 days' time?

This will be a decent phone, but could be outclassed faster then the normally fast pace of the industry with the nexus "like" line coming out soon (rumors say). I am up for a new phone, but think I will wait through the new year for more options/less cost.

Name one phone that will be available on sept 8 better than this one?

None. But that's not the point. Well kind of not the point. For people who follow the industry, knowing that the Prime MIGHT be right around the corner, it's enough to hold off for a month or so. For most consumers I hazard to guess this phone will sell well because they don't look ahead and will see it as an awesome new dual core LTE phone.. and scarf it up. It seems like most people look at what's new NOW, and price. I'm shocked to see people come into work with their new phones.. I just got a Droid X!! (cheap).. or i got a droid X2 on BOGO! Pretty old tech for us enthusiasts.. but these people don't care.

there's always supposedly something better around the corner and the Bionic doesn't really lose at all here. the OMAP4460 in the Nexus is just a higher clocked version of the processor in the Bionic and since it does it'll get ICS real quickly especially considering how much better Moto is at updating their high-end models and this thing supposedly has great battery life whereas phones like the Vigor which has everything the Bionic has plus an HD 720p screen with a supposed 9mm thick profile it's probably going to have pretty bad battery life even if it does have an MSM8960. it really depends but you get my point.

hence why sg2 didnt come out on Verizon, its not cause vwz is getting their version of nexus prime (still a rumor) its cause this phone is coming out and if sg2 gets released it will take the thunder from the Droid Bionic.

This is a decent phone, spec-wise. However, this phone is way over due. This should've been released ages ago.

Sigh......... 7 days till release date.....and my OGD screen fried. CAN NOT go without a phone for 7 days because of work so off to Verizon I went. Insurance wouldnt help me because it wasn't "damaged" and the deductible was 100.00???? So for the next 7 days I am the proud owner of a Samsung Droid Charge.....unfreaking believable. Strange thing though and I dont know if one of you have an answer but I live a 10 miles from the cutoff for 4G..... so the phone says 3G......but when I run Speedtest I am getting in the area of 2250. I wonder if it is some kind of residual feed

If I were you I would use your 30day exchange and get the bionic once it comes out.

its only 14 days now and that would be the plan.....the guy at the store said "but you may decide you like the Charge" please I have had it for less than a day and it already needed a battery pull....it rebooted for no reason while I was doing something....it does NOT play well with my jawbone ERA and for F*CKS sake does the battery drain fast!!!! its like I am watching the electrons bouncing side to side saying "WHEEEEEEE" also the video it took was crap.....the screen is nice though

Yea i took my Charge back 6 days after getting it, battery life sucked & kept locking up, i also just took back the BB 9930 last week, there has never been a problem returning at the store, even though i ordered both online, reactivated my old Bold & just waiting on I5 I believe they return policy is 13 or 14 days, but i never get hassled, took about 15 minutes to return both times. Only certain stores can accept online order's for some reason, check with Verizon

How is Verizon going to still call this thing Bionic? It is 9 months delayed from its original launch date of January. We all saw Verizon's launch schedule here on August 4th with phones like LG's Revolution HD, HTC's Vigor, Samsung's Stratosphere, etc which are launching within a few weeks of "Bionic". I am sure "Bionic" was Bionic if it launched on time but now it is going to launch so late and be less than Bionic compared to its competitors. These phones which are going to meet there scheduled dates unlike Motorola will be the true Bionic phones. Save your money and get the real BIONIC phones a couple of weeks later. for latest news updates about moto info i would like to share a great source http://www.motoask.com
