Motorola ATRIX 2 seen in AT&T store, one day before launch

The Motorola ATRIX 2 has a 4.3 qHD display, larger than the 4 incher on the original Motorola ATRIX, which also featured qHD resolution. Beside the larger size, the screen on the sequel doesn't appear to be a pentile matrix display and according to the tipster, that might be why the screen looks great. He also points out that the H+ icon that indicates connectivity with AT&T's HSPA+ pipeline has been replaced with a 4G logo.
The follow-up device to the "World's most powerful smartphone" will cost $99 with your signature on a 2-year contract. And if you can just hold on a bit longer, you should be able to pick up this unit only a few hours from now when AT&T opens the doors on its retail locations.
- Display 4.3" 540 x 960 pixels
- Camera 8 MP / 0.3 MP VGA front
- Processor TI OMAP4430, Dual-core, 1000 MHz
- Storage 8 GB + microSDHC
- Battery 1785 mAh(8.50h talk time)
IS it worth it? or should i wait for htc titan in november?

I'd recommend waiting for the Titan to arrive. Motorola phones running Blur seem to have the lion's share of software issues early on after their release. At the store I manage, every phone I've done troubleshooting on for the past week has been a Moto handset. They seem to have have a pattern of getting products into consumers' hands and then waiting to see all the many issues that crop up, only to respond with updates that may or may not solve the problems. I won't say HTC is perfect with their software either, but with WP7 and Mango it's literally a different game entirely. My WP7.5 handset has never experienced a single software glitch, and the responsiveness of Mango is unlike anything you'll see outside of iOS or a GS2. The fact that HTC seems to have finally caught on to the idea that people want a great camera in a smartphone is just the icing on the cake.

i was playing with an atrix 2 out of the box and it did not make you set up a blur account so i am pretty sure it doesnt have blur on it. If you don't want to spend two bills i think the attrix 2 is the best $100 android at&t carries.

i was expecting the atrix 2 to be unveiled at ces like last year and to have kal el. a "bit" of an upgrade is dissapointing, even though your upgrading the processor a bit by changing it. the camera means nothing, and i guess the screen is good. plus the faster radio is such bs in phones.

I agree the processor may not seem like an upgrade. But don't forget the 3GS hardly improved on the 3G. At least this phone gives us a larger screen. The iPhone has been stuck on that 3.5 inch baby screen forever. If there is not at least a 4+ inch screen on the next iPhone consider it done.

What really amazes me is ATT's stupidity. Yeah not really amazing I guess but they have the Atrix and the Atrix 2 listed on their site for the same price! WTF?! Are they serious. Do they not pay people to maintain the website and organize it? s**t like that is what makes me think little of ATT. They are not forward thinkers. They are tower builders and price gougers.

juice your an idiot. they are selling the atrix 2 at 99.00 as announced as the launch price. its not a typo. and for your slander they are actually providing a better version of the atrix at the same price. they did the same thing with the blackberry torch 9800 it was 49.99 and then the torch 9810 aka 4g torch replaced the phone at the same price and the torch just disappeared after they sold out of the device. motorola may still manufacture teh atrix and lower the cost so att can subsidize it down to 50 or 0 to combat with the new 3gs 0 dollar pricing. get your facts straight before you rant please.

I have an Atrix... and my battery lasts longer than my friends' iPhone 4... and not to mention two of my friends who had to send their iPhone back to the company because of battery issues... I mean real issues like 30 minutes of battery life...

This is 2011, almost 2012....not 2008. Android and the hardware has gotten better since then, I know its hard for some of you to believe. And different manufactures have different battery life results. Samsung and Motorola usually are better than the others.
