Moto Z2 image appears as the unveiling of Moto's next-generation premium line moves closer?

Over the last few weeks, we have passed along leaks purportedly showing the second-generation members of the Moto Z2 family including the Moto Z2 Force, and the Moto Z2 Play. Today, we get to show you what looks to be a much clearer image of the third phone in the series, the Moto Z2. This, of course, is the sequel to the extremely svelte Moto Z. We know that it is not the first generation model because of the fingerprint scanner's new shape. The biometric reader has gone from being a small square at the bottom of the phone's display, to having a more traditional lozenge shape.

All three handsets in the series will continue to support the Moto Mods modular accessories, which connect to compatible handsets thanks to the magnetic pins found on the back of each Moto Z and Moto Z2 model. As to when the Moto Z2 series might be unveiled, an image allegedly of the Moto Z2 Play shows the date on the clock widget as being June 8th. While not a perfect indicator, many times manufacturers will align the date showing on the phone with the date of the actual unveiling.

Last year, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force were unveiled in June and the Moto Z Play was introduced in August. This year, we could see all three models announced on the same day. We could be just three weeks away from hearing all about the next-generation of the top-shelf Moto handsets.
