Moto G6 and G6 Play coming in mid May according to a new retailer leak
Just a couple of days ago, we showed you leaked images and specs for the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus. Hungarian retailer Alza took down the images, but also claimed that the trio would be available for purchase on April 3rd, the date shown on the screen of renders showing off the G6 line. That might be when the phones are unveiled, but a fresh leak spotted today reveals that the phones might not ship until May.

U.S. electronics retailer Fry's apparently put up its online listings for the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play a little early by mistake. It has since removed the images, but not before we were able to gather some information about the two handsets. The 32GB/64GB Moto G6 will feature a 5.7-inch display with a 1080 x 2160 FHD+ resolution, which works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone will be powered by an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 1.8GHz and there will be a 128GB capacity microSD slot for additional storage. While there will be a dual camera setup on back, the front-facing selfie camera is a wide-angle sensor weighing in at 8MP. A 3000mAh battery keeps the lights on. A virtual helper named Moto Voice comes with natural language recognition and can be activated even with the screen off. There will be a face unlock feature on the G6.

The 32GB Moto G6 Play will have the same screen as the G6, but carries a larger 4000mAh battery. A quad-core CPU running at 1.4GHz is under the hood, and a 128GHz capacity microSD slot is available for those seeking additional storage. A "rapid-focus" 13MP camera adorns the back, while in front there is a 5MP selfie-snapper.

According to the images posted (and since removed) by Fry's, the Moto G6 will be priced at $249.99 and will ship on May 10th. The Moto G6 Play costs $199.99 and will start shipping on May 17th.

While the Fry's leak didn't include the Moto G6 Plus, a separate leak from SlashLeaks reveals that the high-end version of the G6 will be equipped with a 5.93-inch display with a 1080 x 2160 FHD+ resolution (18:9 aspect ratio). The Snapdragon 630 SoC powers the handset featuring an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 508 GPU. There is a dual camera setup (12MP + 5MP) in back and a 16MP front-facing selfie snapper. Keeping the lights on is a 3200mAh battery and Android 8.0 is pre-installed.

"128GHz capacity microSD slot" I wish I could find one of those. In more serious note I don't think it's worth buying when you can find the 7x in 200$+-

The Honor 7x is a piece of junk in comparison to the new Moto G6. The Honor 7x comes with Android 7.0 vs the Moto G6 comes with Android 8 right out of the box. The Honor 7 has a Kirin 659 SoC. It's GPU is only a Mali-T830 MP2, which is rated at 61 gigaflops. The Moto G6 comes with a SD 450 SoC. It's GPU is an Adreno 506, which is rated at 120 gigaflops. The Moto G6 looks to have a water resistant rating where as the Honor 7x has no water resistance. The Honor 7x has only cat 4 LTE, where as the Moto G6 has faster LTE speed. The Moto G6 looks like it is coming with Bluetooth 5, where as the Honor 7x has Bluetooth 4.1. why you brought up the Honor 7x and tried to compare it to the Moto G6 is beyond me. My money would be on the BY. Also there is no Gyroscope on the Honor 7x what so ever. You can't do any AR or VR on the Honor 7x. The Moto G6 has a Gyroscope, so it can do both AR and VR.

I, too, am looking forward to the plus. That said, I may follow this comment up by picking up a BOGO on the v30 at T-Mo in about an hour, lol. Wife desperately needs a phone (seriously, she's rocking an LG Leon) and since I'm on a Note 4, I figure I can benefit from her needs. Yay, me!

It's a huge upgrade over her previous phone.

Sounds like the g6+ will be $330. Idk if a SD630 is worth that money when you can pick up a year old flagship for about that price... I'm thinking of waiting for the z3 play with the Sd636 to hit the secondary market instead of a new g6+

I would rather simply picked up a Redmi Note 5 Pro for about $230, with 4000 mAh battery and SD-636 coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage (microSD Expandable).
