Microsoft spreads the Dark Mode love to another four iPhone and iPad apps
Four of Microsoft's most popular apps for iPhones and iPads are finally ready to leave their users in the dark... in a good way. We're talking about Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, a productivity-focused quartet joining Outlook and OneDrive today on the Dark Mode bandwagon.

This is not a test, mind you, and all you need to do to turn the aforementioned four apps black is install their latest update from Apple's App Store, according to Akshay Bakshi, Microsoft's Office for iOS and macOS Product Manager. The Redmond-based tech giant previewed the redesign back in August, when it also promised to "seamlessly bring Dark Mode to the broader M365 product suite" in the near future.

Said suite includes other popular tools like SharePoint, Planner, and To-Do, all of which are still waiting for their very own Dark Mode toggles. The same goes for Microsoft's entire Android-specific Office portfolio, with the exception of Outlook, which received an important style-changing update on both Google and Apple's mobile platforms almost two months back.

Just like Google and Apple (and Instagram, and Facebook, and so on), Microsoft is primarily pitching Dark Mode as a key feature to help reduce eye strain and improve battery life on your mobile devices. But because there's a bit of controversy surrounding these benefits in real life, you might just want to give dark Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word a try for the cool aesthetic. Look for version 2.30 of the four apps on your iPhone or iPad and... enjoy!
