'Made for Google' certification for accessories launches with 26 third-party manufacturers

Just the other day, we told you that Google would introduce a 'Made for Google' certification program for accessories at its October 4th Pixel 2 event. Besides providing third party manufacturers with the things they need to build cases, chargers and battery packs to Google's specifications, Google will allow the companies signed up for the program to use a Made for Google logo on packaging and advertisements.

Yesterday, when Google introduced the new Made for Google certification program, the company listed the names of 26 manufacturers who have already signed up for the certification program. These firms include:

  • Incipio
  • Moshi
  • Belkin
  • tech21
  • Anker
  • Libratone
  • Invisible Shield
  • Bellroy Power Support
  • Kate Spade
  • dBrand
  • Life Proof
  • Oh Joy!
  • Zoindustries
  • Monster
  • The Mint Gardener
  • Panzer Glass
  • Under Armor
  • Urbanears
  • Speck
  • AIAIAI
  • Otterbox
  • Griffin
  • M
  • Stuftcool
We expect to see more names added to this list as time goes on. Consumers should feel comfortable purchasing third party accessories with the Made for Google logo, because it means that the product is made precisely for Google's devices, and has been tested by the company. And that means a lot when you're talking about purchasing a new charger for your Pixel branded handset. Some of these products can already be found in the Google Store.
