Latest rumor pegs the Motorola DROID BIONIC for early September launch
Despite the consistent rumors we've been hearing so far about a 8/4 Motorola DROID BIONIC launch, the latest "insider tip" from Motorola reps claims that Verizon's stores will be getting the manufacturer's first LTE handset around 9/1.

The Motorola source also sent a new picture of the device, and said its screen is the same as the one on the Motorola DROID X2 and DROID 3, but sans the ghosting. Also, the whole interface felt extremely snappy.

September launch is still not too late, although we'd much prefer to see it next Thursday. It could have scored some good sales in the month of August, given that the US carrier versions of the Samsung Galaxy S II are coming later next month, and the next iPhone won't show up until the fall either.

If this early September rumor is true, then the Motorola DROID BIONIC will have some tough times in sales, battling those two juggernauts from Samsung and Apple, despite its already iconic status. Hopefully the LTE connectivity will make up for the delay.
