LG teases a F1.8 camera for the LG G4, bigger cam sensor in tow?
LG is raising the LG G4 hype waves with videos showing different things about the upcoming flagship's functionality. LG started yesterday by introducing the human-centric LG UX 4.0 interface, and today, it followed up by teasing the new camera. Unfortunately, teasy LG won't reveal much details for the anxious among us, but it does advertise a F1.8-wide aperture. This is close to the Samsung Galaxy S6's F1.9 aperture, and we expect an overall improvement in light absorption and photo quality thanks to this.

The LG G4 is rumored to one-up its 16MP sensor-wielding competitor with a 20MP camera module, and by the looks of it, the smartphone sports a much larger lens than the one on the LG G3, pointing towards a bigger cam sensor - one that might be a creation of LG itself.

Needless to say, we can't wait to take this mad son of a gun out for a photographic spin! LG will be catapulting the G4 towards the market on April 28th, so it won't be long before we get to learn more about it. If you want to get your LG G4 expectations in line, feel welcome to read our rumor roundup.

Oh man how much I wish to have G4 Compact in size of Optimus G. LG will again release enormous phone that is beautiful, packs great features but there is no way to use it with one hand.

The impressive thing with the G3's camera is that it has the same IMX135 sensor as in the G2 LG a good job improving their software and adding laser autofocus The IMX135 was released in Q1 2013, over a year old at the time Sony didn't have a new Exmor RS ready at the time Except the IMX220, but they were keeping for themselves Which is also a reason why Samsung went with their ISOCELL sensor for the S5 Hopefully the G4's camera is on par with the S6/Note 4 and iPhone 6+

"Hopefully the G4's camera is on par with the S6/Note 4 and iPhone 6+" Yep... I believe that G4 will carry the same sensor used inside the S6/Note 4: a 16MP Sony Exmor IMX240, but with a wider aperture of a f/1.8 and OIS, possibly it will bring great picture quality.

It is good, but the most important thing is the processor doesn't overheat and powerful. Hope LG could do nice work in it.

And poor battery life and a very buggy UI. With this said, i have no doubt at all that LG will be back this year with a hell of a phone, i am expecting a lot from them, and LG has always showed that they are true listeners to what their costumers demand in their flagships.

I don't think SD810 will be as great as 810.Inferior graphics DDR3 ram and powering a QHD screen. Will be difficult to manage.

Samsung have laid out a great framework, I'm sure they will find inspiration.

Cool. Will there be a leather back? 2015 has been a dissapointment so far. Im holding out for this LG and OnePlus. These are the last 2 OEM's. Motorola is too far out for me to wait.

Umm... the iPhone got demolished by the nexus 6, and I think you're forgetting a number of Nokia devices that are years old and still better than the newest Samsung offerings.

Man LG is doing nothing but impress in the last few days. I am seriously curious to see how the G4 is going to do in the real world compared to Galaxy S6. This year for me is gonna be LG G4 or the Note 5. And since photography its one of my hobbies, I'm gonna pick for sure the one with the best camera.. But it's great to see LG is improving in the camera department.

f1.8 means absolutely nothing, what size is the sensor and what's the focal length? If going by G3's sensor of 1/3.06”, that would make the f1.8 not even close to the aperture sizes on the GS6 or Z4.

Assuming the LG will take similar pictures to what we are seeing from the S6, this is going to be one great camera.

Will G4 use the same Sony sensor IMX240 (16mp) used in Galaxy S6/Note 4 ?!
