The #HuaweiMate20 event starts at 9am Eastern/6am Pacific/2pm GMT/3pm Central European time 

One of the world's largest phone makers is gearing up to announce its most exciting phones in a while. Given that last year's Mate 10 and 10 Pro were some of the most souped-up handsets on the market at the time, and still hold their own a year after launch, we are pretty pumped for their successors, the Mate 20 and 20 Pro.

Those are expected to land with elegant glass bodies, Android's first 7nm chipset, greatly enhanced triple cameras and ultra-fast wired and wireless charging to supplement their huge batteries. 

If that's not enough to make you glued to the screen watching the unveiling event livestream above, the fact that they will ship with Android Pie on board should add to the excitement mix. In addition, Huawei is supposed to unveil the next version of its smart timepiece, tentatively dubbed the Watch GT.
