Huawei Mate 20 Pro appears in official renders; three color options revealed
Following countless leaks which have included hands-on images and case renders, today official renders of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro have finally appeared online confirming the final design and three official colors.

Coinciding with virtually all previous information, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro follows in the footsteps of Samsung’s most recent flagships by introducing a new 6.3-inch curved edge AMOLED display. Unlike devices from the latter company, though, Huawei’s offering sports extremely thin side bezels and a relatively small chin. Moreover, the traditional top bezel has been swapped out for a new notch which is home to a front-facing camera, the in-ear speaker, and a new Face ID-like technology. While on the topic of security, it’s also worth noting that an in-display fingerprint scanner is reportedly on board.

Moving over to the rear, the glass has been curved slightly towards the edges in order to provide a more comfortable feel. Additionally, the panel is dominated by a large square-shaped camera module in the middle which is home to three rear sensors and a dual-tone LED flash. Also, just like Huawei’s other premium devices, Leica branding is present too. Elsewhere on the smartphone, a red-colored power button is included on the frame.

When it comes to the internal side of things, Huawei’s new Kirin 980 will be included alongside a minimum of 6GB of RAM. This is then expected to be coupled with 128GB of non-expandable storage. When it comes to the battery, a 4,200mAh pack has been rumored and should make an appearance alongside support for both wired and wireless fast charging. Lastly, completing the setup will be Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

As confirmed by Huawei, the Mate 20 Pro will make its first official appearance on October 16 in London alongside the regular Mate 20 and the new FreeBuds 2 Pro. Sales should commence by the end of the month and, as revealed by these images, the smartphone will be available in Black, Blue, and Twilight options. However, a green variant is reportedly in the works too.

Really? Fast charging was done on iOS? Dash or Supercharge or Vooc anyone? In screen fingerprint scanner anyone? 7nm chip anyone? 40mp and 5x telephoto hybrid zoom tech, anyone? And long exposure AI stabilised nightshots? Who pioneered AMOLED tech? Longest lasting battery life? Complete bezel-less and notch-less display was done by Apple? Full NFC functionality and open to third party use? Who did wireless charging first, Apple? Didn't LG give us the 1000nits LCD display? Didn't Sony give us the first and only 4K display? And first to bring HDR panels too? Don't be chatting BS here, boi. You just makin' a fool outta yourself. We gonna school you all day, son.

Samsung phones don't have a notch. They have fingerprint scanner below the camera and their camera design is different. Also iPhones don't have a chin below the display. So your comment doesn't make any sense.

Ugly camera design, copy LG X CAM, P20 pro better or LG V40.

Looks much nicer than LG X cam and that one had only 3 circles instead. We can as well acuse apple of copying LG Optimus 3D Max camera design.

Hmm. I wonder if it'll have an insane battery life like the Mate 10 Pro.

These devices are simply stunning. Huawei has come a long way, and I would honestly really like to give one of their devices a try some day. My only gripe with this phone in particular is that camera setup. I much prefer the tri-camera setup on the P20/P20 Pro. It's very sleek looking, the vertical dual cam+single cam below. I'm just not feeling the same way about the Mate 20's.

The vertical camera setup of P20 series was accused of looking like an iPhone X. Haters gone hate.

I do agree with the implementation of rear camera modules. Best way to organize the back side. The front - it’s absolutley lazy. They have a notch, plus a top bezel and a chin. Why even try?

Every company out there is trying to imitate apple with the notch, then why can't they imitate the no bottom chin part too. Why is it so difficult to do! If Apple can do it, then at the very least Sammy should be able to pull it off, they are the supplier of these displays for Apple after all. Google, on the other hand, I have no idea whether they are trying to pull the biggest prank in smartphone history with that ugly notch or they have really lost their mind.
