Here's what Motorola smartphones will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop
Now that Android 5.0 Lollipop is finally official, you certainly want to know when your current device will get the new version of Google’s OS. Well, if you happen to own a Motorola device, we have some answers.

Motorola confirmed that it would bring Lollipop to the following smartphones: Moto X (1st and 2nd generation), Moto G (1st and 2nd generation, plus the Moto G LTE), Moto E, Motorola Droid Ultra, Motorola Droid Maxx, and Motorola Droid Mini. The exact timing of the updates depends on Motorola’s partners (i.e. carriers), but we should hear more on this soon. In any case, it’s nice to see that even the cheap, low-end Moto E will be updated.

It makes sense for Motorola to be among the first companies to detail Lollipop upgrade plans - since it’s the manufacturer of the brand new Nexus 6 (which, of course, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box).

Moto E and G to upgrade to 5.0! Motorola is making fun of other manufacturers who will probably cite 'limitations in hardware support' or 'end of life cycle' not to update their quad-core, 2GB former flagship devices!

Gladly, 2 year old devices are not a priority. That's probably around when people upgrade anyway.

Hmm, I guess HTC will be next to announce their plans. Probably won't be as extensive as Moto's list.

Just don't download it as soon as it comes out. You want them to squash the bugs. Kit Kat was no piece of candy, no pun. Is not just Android, I'm still running iOS 7.1.1. in my pad, reading too many nightmare stories.

Kit Kat on the Moto X worked perfectly fine for me when it came out. Could be the skin used by your phone manufacturer if you're not using Motorola. I imagine Motorola Android phones probably run into less of those bugs because they're running a pretty much stock experience.

No surprises here. I would be miffed if my ~year old device were already at the end of its update cycle. I just hope the update comes quickly, which Moto has been quite good about recently.
