HTC Kingdom spotted at the FCC with WiMAX radio on board

HTC Kingdom spotted at the FCC with WiMAX radio on board
Remember when a smartphone known as the HTC Kingdom posed for the camera not long ago? The Sprint logo that it had printed on its front made it pretty clear which carrier the device was most likely headed to. Well, the smartphone’s leaked photos from last month may not have fooled us after all because the HTC Kingdom was just spotted on the FCC’s web site with WiMAX and CDMA radios on board.

The HTC Kingdom, may be a perfect fit for Sprint’s speedy WiMAX network, but besides that, there didn’t seem to be anything else that we could learn after digging through its FCC filing. What we do know, however, is that the smartphone is expected to have a qHD display of at least 4 inches, 1.2 GHz single-core processor backed up by Adreno 205 graphics, a 5-megapixel camera capable of shooting 720p video and a front-facing shooter suitable for video conversations.

Now that the HTC Kingdom has the FCC’s seal of approval, an announcement from Sprint regarding its release might follow sooner than we expect. We will be keeping an eye on it for you.

Amazing to say this, but with the EVO3D in tow, this is the "tier 2" for HTC on Sprint, huh? 1.2 Gig processor and 4" screen would have set the bar really high about 6 months ago. Geez, what a wonderful, crazy tech world we freaking live in ....

Notice how all the new Sprint phones have WiMax? It's because their 3G is crap. I was using my friend's EVO 4G, but there wasn't 4G service. So it was on 3G. I went to to check the speed. It got 0.10 Mbps down, over 3G. That's like 10 Kbps.

Wow! Hey guys, he doesn't realize that Sprint and Verizon have a handshake deal to use each other's 3G infrastructure and he is slapping his own carrier while he thinks he's making sweet love to it! Way to impress with those great math skills too!

I am overdue for an upgrade and my TP2 is waiting to be replaced by a WP7 set. Htc Arrive with Mango would definitley do it, but this phone with qHD res, 1.2Ghz core would make me jump on it if it is WP7... I'm guessing it's going to be disappointing with Android Gingerbread flavor like everything else though...

this would be amazing for me... but even better with a keyyboard... if this had 8mp camera with 1080p video, it would be my choice no doubt in like november lol.... but then again, the photon looks nice too... p.s., nothing can replace a good ol' hardware qwerty keyboard... and i want one so i can type my emails without problems

I agree this phone could be amazing, but after using Swype on my TP2 for the past month [and the lack of a Ctrl key TP2 compared to TP1], I no longer need teh physical qwerty slider. I can't beleive I am saying I don;t need the keyboard and would be happy with the touchscreen keyboard! I am so much faster with Swype than on teh physical board and since there is no control key anymore I see no real need for the physical board.

4 in screen.. sense 3.0, front face cam.. thinner than the evo.. no gimmick 3D on it... no keyboard. PERFECT!

The HTC EVO 3D may sound like a gimmick but with 1.2 GHZ dual core Processor and 1GB of RAM it's not.
