Gresso releases its first titanium smartphone, prices start from $180020
Well, it looks like Gresso has learned its lesson to some extent, because its latest product is, in fact, an Android-powered, deluxe smartphone – the $1900 Gresso Radical R. The bulky dual-SIM device is somewhat heavy for its size - with dimensions of 5.43 x 2.71x 0.47 inches, the smartphone would tip the scales at 7.7 oz (219gr). Why? Well, the reason for this is the casing of the smartphone, which (typically for Gresso) is made of Grade 5 solid titanium, which is mostly used in the aerospace industry. The titanium keys on the front and on the sides are sensor ones. Allegedly, the device is being assembled manually. According to the manufacturer, even the Gresso logo on the back is manually polished for more than 4 hours.
Unlike the Cruiser Titanium, the dual-SIM Gresso Radical comes with more advanced software and hardware specs. The latter runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and comes with a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU on board. The 4.5-inch Gorilla Glass display has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, which results in the relatively low pixel density of 244 ppi. An 8MP snapper can be fond on the back of the Gresso Radical. The internal memory of the device is 36GB.
The luxurious Gresso Radical comes in three slightly different variations. The only difference between the three is the material, used to make the logo plate on the front of the smartphone. The Gresso Radical R1, which is the base model, is entirely made of titanium and costs $1800. The $2300 Gresso Radical R2 sports a 18k yellow gold front logo plate. The Gresso Radical R3 costs $2300 as well, but its front logo plate is made of 18k white gold. The production of the smartphone is limited to 999 units.
