Update to Android version of Google Wallet will allow users to integrate with Google Maps
After
purchasing the tech and patents of Softcard, Google Wallet is now one of a few players in the mobile payment space with a bright future. Others include Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. The latter has the advantage of using NEC connectivity and magnetic stripes which means
it is accepted at as many as 30 million locations right off the bat.
Google Wallet for Android was the recipient of an update on Friday that added integration with Google Maps. With the update, Google Wallet users will be able to look at a receipt and get a Google Maps image showing where the store that issued the receipt is located. The update also allows you to look at a transaction history based on the name of a merchant, the product purchased, or other keywords.
If you already have Google Wallet installed, go to
My apps in the Google Play Store to see if the update has arrived. If you haven't installed it yet on your phone, click on the sourcelink to do so.
