Google Store now sells the LG Watch Urbane, Apple Watch-like price tag attached; Moto 360 discounted
In case you're not planning to buy the LG Watch Urbane from Verizon (which is getting ready to release it tomorrow), you can order the new smartwatch right now from Google Store. Google is asking $349 for the LG Watch Urbane, which thus becomes one of the most expensive Android Wear devices to date. As you may know, $349 is also the starting price of the Apple Watch (the Sport model).

It looks like Google Store lets you buy the Watch Urbane only if you reside in one of the following countries: US, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, or Australia.

Thanks to a stainless steel frame and a circular display (1.3 inches with 320 x 320 pixels), the LG Watch Urbane resembles a traditional watch. The timepiece features a heart rate sensor, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of storage space, and a 410 mAh battery. Check out our LG Watch Urbane hands-on to get a closer look at the device.

Meanwhile, if you want to buy another Android Wear smartwatch from Google Store, you may want to know that the LG G Watch R now costs $249 (down from $299), while Motorola's Moto 360 can be purchased for as low as $179.

At that price. Its well worth it. If I didn't already have one, then I would have bought it for sure.

I am a weaker man than you are. I already ordered it even though I really should have waited to see the Samsung Orbis first. Oh well. It's not shipping for like 2-3 weeks in Canada though for some reason.

Too expensive, it seems to have the same internals as the G watch R

Not only same internals but also same materials. The G Watch R is also stainless steel with leather strap. But it's only $50 more expensive than the original price of the G Watch R, so I find the price reasonable. Obviously now, thanks to the reduced price, the G Watch R looks like a bargain, but it seems that LG will try to differentiate the two models further by allowing WiFi connectivity only for the Urbane.

Give it three months, it will go down substantially.
