Google Play Music update adds option to listen to songs directly in search

4comments
The Android version of Google Play Music is getting new tweaks and improvements from time to time, but many of them don't come as updates via Google Play Store. It means that even if you have the newest version of the app, some features might not be available for you yet since they are rolled out from the server side.

One such feature is the option to listen to songs or entire albums directly from the search tab. There's a new play icon for the first three results that you get after doing a search in the Google Play Music for Android.

Only the first three search results are playable, but you can tap on the rest to view the listing in a separate window. Apparently, the new feature is available in the latest 7.9 and 7.10 versions of Google Play Music for Android, but it might not be available to everyone yet.

Keep in mind that the new option has been implemented in addition to the standard Search page of the Android app, so you can now use both depending on the situation.
