The Gionee S9 has been certified in China by that country's TENAA regulatory agency. According to the documentation, the phone sports a 5.5-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The phone will be offered in two variants with a Gionee S9T featuring a chipset with a faster clock speed. The regular Gionee S9 comes with an octa-core 1.8GHz CPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of expandable native storage. For those seeking additional storage, there is a 128GB capacity microSD slot on board.

A dual-camera setup on back features 13MP and 5MP sensors. A 13MP camera in front handles selfies and video chats. The phone offers Dual SIM capabilities and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. The handset measures a svelte 7.4mm thin and is available in your favorite color, if your favorite color is Gold.

The Gionee S9T variant, which is the subject of a separate TENAA certification, features a slightly faster 2GHz clock speed (compared to the already mentioned 1.8GHz clock speed on the Gionee S9). It is offered in Black and Gold, and at 200 grams it weighs 33.5 grams more than the base model.

With the TENAA certification out of the way, we could see Gionee unveiling both models shortly.
